Metahumans are easily explained by the particle accelerator explosion, but how do you tell someone you’re actually a creature from fairytales?

Cisco is a merman with an intense fascination with humans and their technology.  Ridiculed by his family for this, he decides to leave his home in the sea and make a name for himself as a human and inventor in Central City.  He quickly catches a break with a job at STAR Labs, where he tries his best to keep his identity a secret.  It isn’t that easy, though, because he inconveniently grows back his fins and tail whenever he comes into contact with water.  It only gets harder when Barry Allen is brought to the labs and stumbles his way into Cisco’s life.  How is he supposed to keep a secret from those puppy eyes?
