old new girlfriend - i hate sex
I Hate Sex / January 24
grief creeps quietly backwards, my mood ring has never changed back from black
Do you like I Hate Sex?
yes
neutral
no
haven’t hard
I was scared my rock would sink, and it did, and you did
If you died I wouldn't be light but I wouldn't be heavy anymore
Happy anniversary

life’s just a pissing contest, and nobody exists on purpose
if you have no idea where you’re going it’s fine, neither does anyone.
or maybe we could go together,

An emotional review of Circle Thinking by I Hate Sex
via Door Gallery
I found out about this band, now one of my favorites, through Laura Les wearing a shirt from them in the music video for Money Machine, and I am eternally thankful because there are few bands that have helped me through tough times like I Hate Sex has. Musically, the instrumentation is traditional emo, beautiful guitar and downtempo drums that make you wanna cry, but what really makes it special is the vocals. Nicole Boychuk is screaming her lungs out, burning her throat and yelling some of the most bitter, and at times desperate, lyrics i’ve ever heard. Often I find myself locking myself in the storage room of my house, sobbing and screaming along with her, and it makes me happy to feel like a passing version of a person, recorded in 2015, understands how i feel. This album is only 17 minutes and change long, and this is one of the few times I don’t want an album to be longer. If it were, my throat would be spurting blood by the end.
