This book just made me smile so much!!! So here’s a quick review!!!! 

Great retelling of Cinderella

Included all key points and fleshed out the basic archetypal characters 

Adapted the plot to modern setting logically and interestingly 

There are POC, one who is the main character

Who was super sweet, and only a brat occasionally 

(please take him away from his dad) 

Also lesbians!!!! With major roles and their sexuality doesn’t define them!!!!

The romance was so so sweet 

And way more developed than the Disney and original tale 

Also lots of cute nods towards the Disney film 

Stepmother and one stepsister were TERRIBLE 

So was our Prince Charming’s dad

I adored all the other geek references, as a hardcore Harry Potter fan and a casual Star Trek fan

Lots of fun and I almost cried at one point because I was so upset

Obviously, the plot was not filled with unexpected twists and turns, but HOW the plot moved along was very interesting to watch 

Recommended to fans of fairy tale retellings and YA contemporary and just general geeks
