Maybe I've spent too long around children but I have MAJOR BEEF around the way people write Michael. It's the curse of every kid ever written in the fandom but I swearrrr kids can be there for more than the cuteness factor.
That's not to say you can't have Michael being cute in your fluff fic, but the quickest cheat to writing more realistic children is having them inconvenience the adult characters. And not just "waaa I'm lonely me want cuddles" but an actual inconvenience. Michael crying in the night and interrupting Tubbo's limited sleep. Michael getting sick so Ranboo has to care for him and can't hide away before he starts enderwalking. Michael wetting the bed on babysitter Techno and he has No Idea what to do. Michael getting stuck up a tree and not trusting Tommy to catch him.
It's the sort of stuff that every child is subject to in fandom but the OTHER thing is I'm the biggest nonverbal Michael hypeman. Like bro is NOT just a normal kid, he uses sign language or aac or at the very least has a significant speech impediment. He grew up in the nether no way does he speak fluently in a brand new language. Also AACs are way too cool let Michael spam the cake button instead of telling Tubbo if he wants a bath or a shower.
