Honestly, at this point, if I don't feel an ache in a part of me I thought disappeared a long time ago at least three times a day, am I even writing fanfic, bro?

Anyway, today, while writing what is supposed to be questionable content of Atsushi and Chuuya (and still will be), I made Chuuya so sincere, my soul hurt.

(Background: Atsushi is a waiter at a fine dining restaurant, Chuuya is a master sommelier. In this universe, Atsushi understands people are selfish, and Chuuya explains his offer of kindness isn't transactional and everything he's offering is for Atsushi and...)

A feeling that only grows when what’s left of Atsushi breaks down in his gentle embrace. The guilt, the fear, the complete and utter defeat in his voice only serve to break Chuuya’s heart. Atsushi had come so far, made so much progress and it felt like he’d been thrown back into square one.

Chuuya held him close and refuted those words of his, that Atsushi was not at fault, that he was worth protecting, that his friends were okay and this didn’t make him a monster. He said it over and over and would continue to do so until Atsushi believed him.

Until Atsushi believed he was only human.

“…Chuuya…” came a quiet voice from the teary eyed weretiger nestled in the executives arms. Chuuya hummed softly looking at him with gentle eyes “I’m right here” he reassured. Asushi sniffled before looking up at him, hesitantly “I wanna go home…our home please…”

In that moment Chuuya would’ve given him anything even if it were the stars themselves. He pressed a soft kiss to Atsushi’s forehead as he carefully picked him up off the floor. The weretiger clung to him like Chuuya was the only thing keeping him sane and maybe he was.

That bastard Q was lucky Chuuya had more important matters to attend too..,
