- he has REALLY bad posture. in the PT base during yorknew, when Chrollo is reading a book, he is literally hunched over and his back is at like a 45 degree angle🥺

- he’s very smug and cocky. after his fight against Zeno and Silva, he asks with a smirk to Zeno “if we were in a fight, who would win, you or me?” and chuckles knowingly when Zeno replies. during Chrollo vs Hisoka, Chrollo says that he is “100% sure that i am going to win”

- his personality switches depending on who he’s with. with the troupe, he’s logical and stoic—never losing his temper. when he’s with Hisoka, he’s much more relaxed and friendly + smiles much more often. when he’s with someone older, he’s respectful.

- he doesn’t seem to mind celebrations/parties. he’s seen drinking with the troupe in a manga panel after the auction.

- he seems very self aware of his handsome appearance, as he lured Neon in + most of the abilities in his book are from women.

- in terms of physical strength, Chrollo is 7th in the Troupe —above Bonolenov, Nobunaga, Shalnark, Pakunoda, Shizuku, and Kortopi, making him MUCH MUCH MUCH stronger than even superhumans such as Gon and Killua. (I love this fact for some reason)

- he had many similarities to Gon and Kurapika as a kid. (read Ch. 395-397, which is the Troupe backstory. it has a lot of cute baby Troupe member scenes🥺)

- he has a habit of covering his mouth with his hand whenever he is thinking deeply about something or connecting the lines.

- he knows a shocking amount about the Kakin Empire (in the manga), even more so than some of the Princes of the Kakin Empire.

- he seems to have a habit of smirking whenever something is going according to plan or when something went according to plan. he also just seems to enjoy smirking in general.

- his favorite color seems to be purple due to much of his outfits being some sort of variation of purple.

- in official arts + mobage cards, he seems to have dark circles under his eyes. in the yorknew city arc, he is also the only troupe member who didn’t sleep during the entire arc, meaning that he seems to have some sort of insomnia.

- in mobage cards, Chrollo seems to have a habit of fidgeting with his clothes. (pulling off his tie during the Christmas mobage card, playing with his hat, etc,.)

- he is very athletic, considering how at the end of yorknew city when he was left nen-less on those plateaus, he managed to climb down and find shelter all by himself.

- he is also very rich, since on average, every Zoldyck assassination costs around 1 billion—Chrollo managed to afford to assassinate the 10 Dons, meaning 10 billion Jenny.

- Chrollo doesn’t seem to care whenever someone is being disrespectful towards him or the troupe.

- Chrollo seems to have a particular fondness for suits, as he is often seen wearing a suit in official arts

- Chrollo often wears clothing that covers much of his body

- Chrollo seems to have the traditional values of a chivalrous man, meaning that he respects women quite a lot and makes sures to keep them safe. Chrollo made sure to catch Neon in the most respectful way when she “fell” (he literally could have just grabbed her by the arm and it would have been fine), he made sure to keep Pakunoda + Machi + Shizuku in the same team during yorknew (there were no men in their team), and during the Chrollo vs Hisoka battle, none of the female spectators (or even the commentator) were harmed.

It's a lunchbox! For work

It's a relatively new feature in Chrollos life that sometimes he wakes up to an alarm not set by himself. Alarms in general are not something he's been too fond of so far.

He'll wake up when his body tells him to and works in the evenings most of the time anyways.

But not only is the alarm ringing on the other side of the bed quite hard to ignore, the form moving off of him and into its direction to exasperatedly hit the top is an added loss of comfort.

When you've managed to turn off the alarm, after your first four attempts only managed to hit the table, you slump back down and groan.

"Ughhhh".

He chuckles lowly and slowly opens his eyes to look fondly upon your form splayed next to his.

You're still wearing his shirt and some underwear from your closet, an outfit you pulled together in exhaustion after yesterday's late-night lovemaking session.

The morning light from the window paints your shapes in gold, giving you an almost ethereal glow. No matter the unruly hair strewn around your head.

He takes a little moment to just admire you in your morning haze.

"Good morning, my love".

"G'morning", you mumble and start to wiggle your way back on top of him. Chrollo gladly welcomes you back into his arms.

"When do you need to be there today?" He begins, now pondering the timely possibilities of a quick morning make-out session. A few kisses would make early mornings bearable at least.

"Too soon," you sigh exasperatedly, making him smile once again.

You peck his lips quickly and then make to roll yourself out of bed and get started with the day.

Chrollo listens to the shower turning on in the bathroom and just stays where he is for now.

Phantom Troupe w/ a Tall!Fem!Reader

Haven’t written hxh for a hot minute… replaced Hisoka w/ Chrollo cus I don’t write for him! also reader is intended to be in the 6’0+ range

Random thoughts on how I think a potential lover could change Chrollo:

🕷️I feel like Chrollo is the type of person who walks a fine line between craving connection and rejecting vulnerability. His emotional detachment doesn’t mean he’s indifferent to others. He expresses a clear sense of responsibility for the Troupe while simultaneously maintaining a certain distance. To me, this paradox reveals that he craves connection but cannot afford to be vulnerable without risking his authority and identity.

If he were fully detached, he wouldn’t care about Uvogin’s death or go as far as holding a requiem to honor him. But if he were fully vulnerable, he wouldn’t be able to maintain the ruthless control required to lead a group like the Troupe.

That said, how he would treat a potential love interest depends very much on who they are to him. For his potential s/o to move beyond mere curiosity and become someone he genuinely cherishes, they would need to be irreplaceable in his eyes—someone no one else could ever replicate or replace.

This person would have to be able to pull him away from his habitual detachment, drawing him out of his constant way of analysing the people around him. They wouldn’t just capture his attention but anchor him in the present, making him live in the moment/lose himself in the emotion he’s feeling in the moment.

But it’s very likely that the same qualities that draw him in would also shake him. Someone with the power to make him lose himself in the moment also holds the power to change his worldview. For a man who survives by maintaining intellectual and emotional control, being vulnerable a would threaten the stability he’s built around himself and the Troupe.

At first, his instinct would likely be to push him away. I don’t think this would be due to indifference but because their influence on him represents a loss of control, something he cannot afford when his leadership hinges on his ability to stay emotionally untouchable. Letting someone see or discover his unfiltered core means risking the detachment that enables him to make the kind of ruthless decisions the Troupe’s survival demands.

Though I can definitely imagine how someone who makes him feel something beyond duty and cold calculation would eventually become a pull he cannot resist, no matter how much he tries to maintain his distance. 🤭

It’s likely that this relationship would redefine his existence. For once, he would have something outside the Troupe’s mission that holds genuine value. This could manifest in subtle ways like small acts of protectiveness or moments where his calm facade cracks, or even instances where he prioritizes their safety over the Troupe’s objectives. If that person were in the troupe themself, his actions would ultimately go against his motto that nobody is more important than the whole.

First off, I think Kite would be into someone independent and someone who doesn’t need reassurance that much especially because one his line of work is very dangerous and two he likes it when someone has their own goals, hobbies, and a life. Okay based off canon too he would definitely feel a lot more better about you if you can get along with animals easily and have a connection or love for them on the get go because hunters LOVE animals.

Going back to personality, he likes it when a person is compassionate especially because even if he appears stoic at first— he’s genuinely such a kind soul with respect for nature and the cycle of life. The bare minimum for him is that you respect not just friends, pets or family but also strangers, strays and wild animals.

I don’t think he’d be into someone who is super ditzy or needs help all the time because he’s busy with his own life and you already see it in his companions— he looks for reliable people who can stand on their own. But he is never against helping people in need or even people who are willing to learn from him if they are adamant enough (like Gon and Killuaaa)

He’d love a person who can handle their own, yes but that doesn’t only apply in combat but honestly it’s mostly about the mental aspect too. People who stay curious, explore and search for answers even about the most mundane things gets him going because learning never stops guys!! Someone who can challenge his beliefs, be respectful, be competent to the point he knows he can rely on you and is emotionally intelligent? Just get him, he is YOURS.

For physical it’s never really stated if he has a preference but I feel like with so many other characters, he is also a demisexual. You need to become close with him before he starts catching the feelings🤧 He notices character over looks for sure and he probably will fall for someone who is comfortable in their own body and knows who they are and is proud of it. As long as you’re serious about him and don’t start playing mind games he’s locked in with you.

I feel as if Kite would be a low maintenance boyfriend, especially because he’s a hunter. A hunter is busy and can’t always keep up with other people’s needs (let alone his lol) which leads him to disappear for months at a time but I think he’d make sure to give you a heads up before that and he honestly doesn’t think that it’s a big deal to be LDR and have months without speaking to each other because of his work and possibly your work too, but he would be very dependable. If you text him at 3 am and need him in five minutes? He’s there. That does depend on the distance of course but he tries his best to adapt to your needs since in my eyes, he’s definitely a softie under all that firm exterior. 

Honestly Kite would be too kind, we know his character and I feel like if it doesn’t hurt— he would do the things you ask just to make you happy. And that just shows even more that he’s an acts of service type of guy than the type to say big speeches of his love for you. I’d imagine he’d be the type to bring you with him in his travels IF the area is safe. If it is then you’d bet you and Kite would go on nature walks and he’d even explain things he’d learn on trips to you if you asked him to :)) 

Kite would be such a good teacher (we saw this with Gon and Killua) even if you find it annoying, he calls you out for things you do wrong but don’t get it twisted— he never makes it a big deal unless you really messed up big time, he might lose his patience but he never ever hurts you and makes sure you know that he is doing this because he is concerned over your wellbeing. But of course that also means he praises you when you do something good and he’d be super proud on the inside (although he’d never admit it XD)  

He’d be protective, yes but he would never try to control what you do. At most he would just suggest something but even then if you don’t agree he’d be chill about it. You are your own person capable of making your own decisions and knowing what is the best for you and he knows that but if ever something serious happens.. He steps in and immediately prioritizes your safety in the moment rather than explaining thoroughly on what’s going on.

But honestly he doesn’t feel like the type to do PDA much or say I love you even in private. It’s hard for him to express his feelings verbally but it’s obvious by how much he does for you— that he does care. Cares a lot more than he actually let’s on <3 but he also assumes you know the full extent of it and honestly that goes for everyone to even friends, he never tells them how much they care for them because he just thinks they already know which can lead to misunderstandings👀 He makes up for it through actions though. He does the little things like helping you without you needing to ask, checking on you and making sure you are happy and safe and even remembering the things you’ve mentioned only once months later (did I mention he’s a good listener?) 

And even after doing all that (and even more) he never makes a big deal out of it, he doesn’t bring it up in fights or asks for anything in return. Honestly this is my own very very personal hc but when you praise him for being a good partner he scoffs (like the tsundere he is lololol) the proceeds to ask you to not make a big deal out of this BUT just know he is blatantly smiling when he does that and on the inside? He’s actually celebratinggggg 

And with the whole not into saying I love you or doing PDA thing, it feels even more special when he says “I love you” because it shows that he really means it and whenever he holds your hand or gives you affection in private, it shows how much he feels safe with you 

But.. Honestly if he loves you, he loves you and you guys are LOCKED and he doesn’t play games with you. He is so straightforward with what he wants and you just know he is serious when it comes to your relationship with him. 

Despite having his own flaws like sometimes being emotionally complicated he is a green flag through and through and genuinely even if he isn’t the biggest romantic he for sure is the biggest gentlemen out of the four boys in this post lol. He is respectful, mature and treats you as an equal and sees you as a long term partner <3

Okay, Chrollo as a partner is a wild jump from Kite and genuinely a bit of a beige flag leaning towards red? (The real red flags are Hisoka and Illumi…) We expect Chrollo to be toxic but at times he’s just a silly guy who is lowkey, performative and pretending to be stoic. Let’s discuss his type :DD

I think a make or break for him is intelligence, you don’t exactly have to be a genius but it does help tbh. The least you can be is have emotional depth and be emotionally intelligent, but it also works if you’re very educated in topics you’re interested in. What can I say? He’s attracted to people who can think. I also think Chrollo loves people who have their own beliefs and know who they are, but is still open minded and willing to learn more. I feel like when he falls for someone it’s because they have a conversation so deep it actually gets him thinking after days and he’s suddenly caught himself wanting to learn more about you.

With Chrollo, he definitely isn’t the type to fall for someone love at first sight or even care about looks that much because he’s already seen almost everything— to the most beautiful people or treasures he’s laid his eyes on or things (or people) you wish you could unsee. But I do think with Chrollo, he finds beauty, confidence and people who know how to weaponize their looks VERY attractive. Anyways, I think you either have to be a friend from his childhood or someone really close to him (like phantom troupe close) to him before he starts gaining feelings.

Ironically, while he likes extraordinary things— He likes people who treat him as ordinary rather than someone to be put on a pedestal. If you are someone who doesn’t idolize him and you aren’t intimidated by his intelligence to the point you fight his worldviews— he’s interested. But even if he starts becoming very interested in you to the point he develops feelings, the phantom troupe always comes first and if you affect the team then he will gladly sacrifice his feelings without a second thought.

Okay moving on to dating <3

This man is observant, way too observant to the point he probably has a mental log of everything you like or dislike if he doesn’t write it down, that is. It feels like he knows more about you than you know about yourself not because he’s trying to, but because it’s subconscious and years of conditioning and making mental notes of everything as a Phantom Troupe leader. You could mention you have a favorite flower once and after that he never forgets to buy that specific kind of flowers every date. He pays attention to your body language, the way you speak, your accents, how you say your Rs to the most detailed parts to even the most mundane.

And it’s not like he doesn’t like knowing more about you, in fact he enjoys learning what makes you tick or what would break you. He also enjoys learning about the things that make your entire day afterwards or simply get a chuckle from you. It’s a little unsettling at first but it’s just how he cares. But on the other hand he hates letting you see parts of him he didn’t plan on letting you see, he likes to keep most things about himself hidden but if he feels he can trust you he’ll show you his sweeter, more affectionate and sillier parts of his personality. 

But it’s rare for that to happen, even if you two are dating because in order for him to be comfortable to show you small bits that've been tucked away because of his past.. You would have to get him to genuinely trust you more than the trust he has in the phantom troupe itself. Which is really difficult but when that happens you’ll know that you have a place in his heart that he thought he would never even imagine to experience.

So yeah! Just let him observe you and just continue talking! Don’t ask questions about him because if he wanted to, he would.. Eventually <3 Moving on he’d be surprisingly gentle and patient with you, even if you make a million mistakes with him he’d be fine with it (he’s tolerated crimes much worse anyways) but he would get irritated, unless he genuinely is like head over heels would do anything for you (which i think would never happen to him) I think he’d just gently correct you and try to move you to actions that he prefers you do and rewards you whenever you obey him rather than actually communicate about it because in his eyes— it’s easier to handle it that way than actually hurting your feelings and causing real complications that could harm your relationship.

He definitely is on the PDA side but not in ways you expect when we talk about PDA. It’s more on the quiet affection that people don’t seem to notice unless they’re paying attention. Like a hand on your waist, resting a hand on your back while walking, or just making himself look comfortable enough so you’d lean on him. I’d say Chrollo absolutely loves this type of affection both in private and in public because it’s subtle and feels gentle even if he’s like one of the most dangerous criminals in the world lol.

Dates with him feel the same, despite him being the type to do a fancy dinner by candle light with you he happens to enjoy the more domestic types of dates too. Like cuddling while reading different books, walking through York New (or other places he would bring you to👀) at night or even just making you dinner and having deep conversations by the window. I think he would secretly enjoy that more than elaborately planned dates that cost more than a car because he never really got to experience that with anyone until you. With the fancy dates he’s already done that plenty of times, whether it was because he was bored or trying to manipulate someone— but this? It’s completely different because he’s not trying to do anything but be himself with you.

OKAY lastly he loves deep conversations, duh. Would it be Chrollo without having deep conversations? He definitely loves debating with you whether it be philosophical questions, political views or even the stupidest things just to keep you thinking. I feel like he plays as devils advocate sometimes, like even if he doesn’t agree with something he’ll tell you he does just to have the chance to make you 

Chrollo is passionate at heart and will talk to you about anything and everything if you’re willing to listen. He will yap about art, philosophy, religion and so much more without making it sound like mansplaining because he’s genuinely interested and educated in the topics he speaks about. Like sometimes, you’ll see that excited glint in his eyes as he’s explaining something calmly to you and honestly.. It’s subtle but it’s a little cute because these are the only moments where he genuinely opens up— even if it isn’t about him personally. Did I mention he also loves listening to you yap about the things you’re passionate about?

Overall despite being a terrible person who does bad things, he’s surprisingly an amazing partner who is capable of loving you <3 He won’t have exactly all the right intentions but it’s the result that matters, right? Despite his flaws (and manipulation) that keeps you both from having a healthy relationship, you’re definitely his priority after the phantom troupe and life with him feels quiet, intimate and emotionally intense in mostly, all the good ways.

𝘼𝙪𝙩𝙝𝙤𝙧𝙨 𝙣𝙤𝙩𝙚: Helloo! back from a very long break and honestly i keep taking breaks because for some reason lots of things go wrong when in my personal life when i start posting huhu.. I've had this in my drafts since July but I was procrastinating Illumi and Hisoka so I decided why not just post these? I'm sure you would rather me post anything rather than nothing lol and it's not proofread so I'm sorry about that but I've been recovering through some stuff

Just going through some stuff but it's not really anything I can't handle, I'm starting to feel better and find my passion for drawing and writing again so I will try my best to post but don't expect anything sorry :( I really thank you guys who are there for me and my writing, hope to post more soon thank you <3

He’s neither fond nor hateful of children. He doesn’t see the point nor sense in hating them as he’s been one once—as were his most cherished people. But they’re just that, little humans whom he doesn’t see as inherently innocent and helpless either.

He’s got a big thing for pomegranates, but nothing’s more annoying to him than coming across an enticingly red one just for the seeds to be acidic. When their skin’s red he tends to just go for it and bite into the full thing without peeling it.

He enjoys classic fairy and folklore tales, especially in their morbid lessons and rawness. The Red Hiding Hood, Hansel and Gretel, Rumpelstiltskin and Bluebeard are some of his favorites.

Because of his peculiar name and his habit to juggle identities, he’s always found a strange comfort in Spirited Away and Juliet’s monologue in Romeo and Juliet.

He believes he’s got a talent for writing, but his confidence always falters when he wants to put into paper a musing that’s dear to him.

Shalnark being taller than him annoys him to no end lol. Like he knows it’s not a big deal, and he’s not short by any means but… he thinks he’s got the ‘big height, 180cm+’ energy, you know? Not the geek

His smile’s slightly crooked/lopsided, and it’s much more noticeable when his smile’s genuine. Pakunoda and Machi secretly think it’s he most adorable thing ever.

His hair got to his shoulders at some point, he’d even style it in a low ponytail or a braid, but he cut cut cut it bc too much work.

I doubt he’s figured his ideal type. Although he’s certain he doesn’t want to date someone who’s just himself in a different font style and personality wise. He prefers contrast, be it physically, morally or in their overall demeanor. Not day and night either, just someone who’s different to keep him guessing and make things interesting.

If he wanted a pet, he’d be in for a fish, a cat or a snake. He doesn’t want to be all up in their space, and he doesn’t want them to be in his either. Just a presence is enough. But bc of maintenance and stuff, he’d prefer cat… or just a stray one he’d bring treats to and hang out with from time to time.

He’s only got a crush on someone once, when the Troupe was still starting out and lingered longer in areas to set up their plans. He never acted on it tho, and they were mutually rude to one another. So go figure lmao. (That person’s probably still alive and most likely lost their student job bc of the Troupe’s shenanigans)

I’m sure this has been said a billion times already but he’s yappatron 3000 when you get him drunk enough to spill the secrets of the universe (btw he doesn’t know shit)

The whole Troupe thinks he wears contacts because no way his vision is still flawless by now. Never confirmed nor denied anything.

he makes sure you’re safe in the comfort of your home before he calls up feitan, explaining the situation. luckily he’s in the same city for a heist, and they finally go to the abandoned warehouse chrollo had taken the assassin to rot in. they torture him for the entirety of the night, gathering intel about who sent him and what they wanted to kill his angel for.

for once, chrollo’s thankful that he’s watched years worth of dark web videos to teach him the proper methods to agonize a human being.

and ugh… chrollo would come back in the middle of the night while you’re sleeping… there’s a bit of blood on his face when you wake up, mumbling “what happened angel, you okay?” as you reach out for him. he’s controlled his blood lust well for the night, but you’re a master of nen as well and could see it seeping out more than he’d ever allow in public. pupils blown wide, and a grin plastered on his face, replacing the usual victorious smirk.

“i’m fantastic, my venusian angel,” chrollo spoke so softly… until he began to manically laugh. more of his blood lust filled the bedroom you shared. he slowly grabbed your head with both of his hands, looking into your sleepy eyes. “i promise that awful man will never hurt you again,” chrollo whispered, kissing your forehead before he began to cackle once more.

you giggled, scooting over to let him get into the bed, unbothered by his blood lust or mental state.
