The sky was inky. Fire continued to rage on the rushing river. The Biyiniao’s cries echoed through the forest; mesmerizing songs rang out from the musical trees. They sounded like a requiem mourning the death of a princess. Unafraid of the scorching wind, the tiny white musical flowers braved through the flame on the smoky river like migratory birds, scattering down like descending snow. There was a particularly persistent one that slowly drifted down onto Aranya’s hair. She raised her hand and brought it to her ear, her fingers briefly brushing her temple then stopped. It was what Chen Ye had done each time he gave her a flower. She was lost in thought. Then a long while later, she smiled to herself. The golden Biyiniao cried its last as she stroked the white flower on her hair and slowly closed her eyes.
Feng Jiu’s debt to Chen Ye
This is just my mind rambling and can barely be counted as a really short fic.
Chen Ye saved Feng Jiu from being burned to death in the cage.
Naturally she should want to repay him.
However, she is having trouble figuring out what to give him.
Su Moye isn’t of much help. He wants Feng Jiu to focus on continuing Aranya’s path, which was already focused on helping Chen Ye. But Feng Jiu dismisses that as part of paying her life debt.
Eventually, Feng Jiu asks Dong Hua for help because apparently even cooking for Chen Ye is not satisfactory.
Of course, Dong Hua goes jealous but decides to take the matter off for Feng Jiu. He tells her that the item he is building will tell them what Chen Ye really wants - which is pretty much to sacrifice Feng Jiu to resurrect Aranya.
Dong Hua puts a stop to Chen Ye’s plan.
When Dong Hua plants the tree, Feng Jiu decides she can repay her debt by making sure that Chen Ye and Aranya can be together in the future. Dong Hua is fine with this idea.

Episode 19: Chen Ye’s son gets Qin Yiran to like him, but Chen Ye is still struggling to capture Qin Yiran.
Last gif I made for Love the Way You Are. This scene was so cute on how sensible and smart Chen Ye’s son is, but Chen Ye is the complete opposite. Chen Ye wants to use his son to rope in Qin Yiran but his son tells him otherwise XD
Episode 29: Qin Yiran confesses to Chen Ye. This scene started out sweet and then cracked me up afterwards.
These two never failed to make me laugh when they show up on screen. Chen Ye’s character stole me in this drama - even with some flaws in his decisions regarding his son.
