60. Who’s the most childish?

Luke 100%. He's living the life putting his boots on Sheev's nice sheets, spending his time watching podracing on EXTRA LOUD in the middle of meetings. He's making faces at people behind they're back and to their face. He's floating pears in the middle of a senate meeting. Palpatine on the other hand is literally the definition of man stuck in a government job he does Not want, and it sucks. The problem is he's so good at it, so he's stuck being the grown up managing meetings and running senate committees, and committing heinous acts under the noses of everyone.... there's so much planning in a galactic war! and WHO is he trusting to do it but himself? He's the adult in this relationship in everything except morals, I guess.

65. Who’s got the most scars (physically)?

Palpatine. Being a sith apprentice is hard, and he's got scars from the ribs up of force lightning even in his Chancellor era. Old lightsaber burns, injuries from experiments gone wrong, things he wasn't fast enough to dodge... he's got them all. Makes sure that none are on his face and covers up wrist to ankle. And after his coup he's even got scars over the face!

67. Who’s the most spiteful?

jess i saw you in my ask box and immediately panicked you were going to send me lene. god BLESS QUI GON (sentences i never thought i'd say)

anyways, for all the shit i give him, qui gon is really pretty cool! not to reduce him to his relationships but his position in the disaster lineage -- precious late space hippie son to The Treacherous Count Dooku and dad so rebellious his son followed the rules to rebel to obi??? INCREDIBLE. he's also just such a fascinating figure from a meta-fandom perspective -- like, is he Perfect Jedi (Which Is Good) or Perfect Jedi (Which Is Bad Because Jedi Bad) or Worst Jedi (But That Makes Him The Best Because The Jedi Are Evil) or Worst Jedi (Which Makes Him The Worst Because The Jedi Are Cool)? i'll see all of those takes, regularly, and everything in between. he's one of Those Characters, but not one where the question is "can they be redeemed" which means the worst thing anyone implies about his mental health is that he's a stoner and i don't have to see anyone arguing about what it means to be a psychopath, god bless.

but my proper favorite thing about him is that he delivers some of my favorite philosophy quotes in m&a:

“It matters," Qui-Gon said quietly. "It matters which side we choose. Even if there will never be more light than darkness. Even if there can be no more joy in the galaxy than there is pain. and i believe obi is the one who actually says this but he attributes it to qui so:

“People are more than their worst act. And they are also more than the worst thing ever done to them.”

and this one is less Deep And Meaningful but it is so funny and god i should read m&a (after i EVENTUALLY finishing the cursed book lb)

This all sounded very lofty when Qui-Gon said it, but in actuality it meant things like, It’s okay to “borrow” a spaceship from criminals if you really need it, or If I can win this tribe’s independence in a game of chance, then it’s worth selling my Padawan’s best robe for chips to get into the game.

Took me a hot second to figure out what I wanted to do for this, since I wanted it to be good, but it's not a ship I write very much... and then I realized I could flesh out some of that backstory for The Family Tree is… a Disaster, with my mind very much on this art by @uraaniuum.

You're mad/ashamed/horrified you actually kind of like...

mad: dooku and the disaster lineage (esp grandpa warcrimes x sassmeister obi). it's not even "kind of like", it's full on love, am crazy, cHEWING GLASS levels of obsession. and i'm not that mad, i'm just... how dare canon do this to me, for one, and for two, hi, brain, could we pick someone more popular and morally sound to go nuts over next time? someone with a happy ending? someone who at least has a decent amount of fics with a happy ending? a relationship that isn't gonna end with actual facts torture and murder?? alas.

ashamed: eeeeeeeeekk reylo a bit BUT LISTENN it holds a soft spot in my heart for being what dragged me kicking and screaming into the star wars fandom proper (as well as fandom proper in general). (also it was kind of my sex-ed because i was raised in purity culture and did not totally realize exactly What i was reading lmao.) plus there are some excellent fics out there!

horrified: honestly i think my star wars bullshit obsessions are pretty above board! there are a few specific fics that i enjoyed maybe more than i think i should, but i'm not going to list them bc like. they were good! i don't want to tell the world/the authors that i'm horrified by my enjoyment! idk!!!!!

favorite cold drink: Lemonade! Whether plain or mixed with blueberry, strawberry, raspberry, mango, orange...almost every other fruit tastes good with lemon and vice versa. Its just the thing on a hot day or after a good hike. Or both. That said the older I get the picker I get in some ways. I have tasted the fruits of homemade and fresh-squeezed lemonade away with ye mass-produced minute maid.

favorite hot drink: Masala Chai. I’ve done gone and spoiled myself making it the traditional Indian way (if with the sacrilegious Aldi’s tea bags). Haven't stopped by my local tea shop or used my Chai-flavored protein powder since. Been looking for the authentic stuff at Teabox recently and some of the bulk deals they have aren’t too bad.

favorite sweet: Why do y’all torture me with questions like this? I am torn between chocolate and lemon – tragically the two don’t combine to more than a sum of their parts. Recently made a(nother) bread pudding with stale lemon cake, lemon juice, blueberries and orange jam in addition to the usual bread pudding ingredients and it tasted amazing. I’ve also got a recipe for a chocolate-brownie cake with a box of devil’s food cake, a box of brownie mix + homemade chocolate whipped cream-cream cheese frosting. If I was sitting down to my last meal on death row I'd pick both.

favorite actor(s): I’m terrible at paying attention to actors but Michael B. Jordan caught my attention with his performances in both Black Panther and Sinners – as Killmonger and then again as Smoke & Stack. I might have to look at what else he’s been in because he did an awesome job with the characterization of both (well, all three) roles and playing a set of twins like that really shows off his skill.

favorite singer(s): – Also don’t usually pay much attention to individual singers. Or bands. Or song names. Which is why I'm forever frantically searching for a much-loved version of a favored song via half-remembered lyrics, youtube and sheer persistence.

That said I do prefer Within Temptation’s renditions of several songs to the original singers. Also this specific rendition of Running Up That Hill

favorite movie at the moment: Sinners (2025)! Not that I’ve seen anything else recently though my interest in the 2025 Superman is piqued. Still, Sinners is a blend of thrilling genres, of amazing music, it’s got horror and heist vibes, the metaphors are The BEST, the characters and characterization – this movie showed me that it has been too long since I’ve seen a properly damn good movie. I loved Black Panther when it came out but Sinners is at least a tier above.

Damn. What Black Panther could’ve been if Disney hadn’t pissed in it.

favorite song at the moment: Rattlin’ Bog is living rent-free in my head, specifically the one by Colm R. McGuinness. Check it out if you want an everlasting earworm or the ability to annoy friends & family to death with the first verse.

favorite video game at the moment: Not a big video game player but there’s still something heartwarming and lovely about A Short Hike. Not a long game but you get lots of chances to help people, find treasure, mess around in boats and reach both a literal and emotional peak.

favorite season: Late fall and winter. The tourists, poison ivy and bloodsucking bugs are all dying back. Summer’s disgusting blazing heat and humidity evaporates for another year and I feel like I can walk a million miles in the crisp cool air. The heat of Chai and Hot Chocolate tastes so much better against the bite of winter. The woods are full of mushrooms (oysters in the winter) and I have the most time off from work to enjoy it all. Spring is nice too, especially when all the greenery bursts in, vivid and bright and secluding, followed by Chicken of the Woods...but days get hotter every year, faster every year, too buggy and too full of too many tourists who forgot to pack their brains.

The only thing I like about Summer is sleeping through it.

favorite flower: Probably Virginia Bluebells. In the woods where I used to walk there was a whole bed of them spread out everywhere – beautiful place to stroll, fish, meditate. Sadly some fool bought those huge tracts of land and turned ‘em into Private Property: No Trespassing.

favorite scent: Baking smells – there’s nothing like the smell of cooking cinnamon whether it’s from my dad’s sticky buns or brewing a pot of Chai. Brownies baking in the oven are divine, lemon bars, the smell of holiday cookies!
