We LOVE this incredible fairy tale portrait by @swampowitz! We think really captured our essence/scales/feathers/tendrils and we’re so honored to inspire other artwork. Posted @withregram • @swampowitz There are a few artists across various mediums whose work I seem to creatively latch onto, which l religiously consume in its entirety. Charming Disaster is one of them (or three, Kotorino and Sweet Soubrette have got me pinned quite well), and for years, I’ve felt I owed them art for all the good listening I’ve gotten from their tunes. I marinated this idea for a while, and ended up with something that is entirely out of my usual scope, in a way that I’m extremely proud of. Music is a very major source of illustration inspiration for myself, so I rarely step out without earbuds in. Mostly, I listen to individual songs as opposed to artists, but sometimes a whole discography grabs me and I just gotta go with it. Theirs is a wonderful soundtrack for swampy haunts, nighttime loitering, and drawing ridiculous ghoulish sorts with colorful closets. I don’t have any lost loves, but if I did, I’m sure it’d be a great score for that as well. @charmingdisasterband — I hope you guys get as much a kick out of this as I do from your music. #folkloreart #charmingdisaster #storybookillustration #brothersgrimm #bookillustration #albumartwork #darkfantasyart #fairytaleart #fanart https://www.instagram.com/p/CW8bXcclrbi/?utm_medium=tumblr
