#chapter 5 batim

alright, so I watched Jack’s playthrough (and that was amazing!) And... oof. several comments.

First off:

AT LEAST 20 OF YOU OWE ME A DRAWING!

heh.

Next off, actual business...

There’s so much mixed information in this chapter where do I begin

So I’m skipping to the credits sequence. Because damn.

Leaving no room for doubt there...

(that was a choppy shot, sorry)

I feel like this is notable. I don’t know why, but I have a feeling someone else is gonna jump on it in a minute.

i just noticed this one was there. so there’s the good boys

and I’m just gonna leave this one to someone else as well.

but THIS. this. Henry’s last name! Finally!

And, there’s the ‘your best pal’. So..

Skipping back a bit (guess I’m working in reverse order whoops), to ‘the end’- or was it? Henry’s waking up in a comfy looking house, a colorful house, and a bit of inspection tells us it’s Joey’s. You get to read some of his mail, we learn Henry’s number, it’s all cool.

Then you can see some storyboards. 

Let’s run through them all:

It’s less of a cohesive story and more of bits and pieces of ideas and random moments. Some of it seems serious, most of it seems to be a bit ridiculous and joking- but it’s all from the game. In Joey’s house. Could just be a little thing for the viewers, but we should all keep Alastor Moody’s wise words in mind- constant vigilance. Everything could be important and I wouldn’t want to miss much.

And then you round into the kitchen, and there’s the man of the house himself.

And I’m just going to transcribe part of what he says:

“...you have questions.You always do! The only important question is this: who are we, Henry? I thought I knew who I was... but... the success starved me. Nothing left but lines on a page. "In the end, we followed two different roads of our own making. You, a lovely family.... me, a crooked empire. And my road burned. I let our creations become our life. "The truth is, you were always so good at pushing, old friend... pushing me to do the right thing. You should have pushed a little harder. "Henry. Come visit the old workshop.... there's something I need to show you."

And then the door opens and it’s the start of Chapter 1 again.

What did this mean?

For starters, we get a bit more of Joey’s personality. Past chapters made him out to be anything but regretful. But not here.

Then, the last line- “Come visit the old workshop. There’s something I need to show you.”

That’s the last line of the letter.

And that’s something to note. 

Moving on, to the ‘cliffhanger’- I saw several comments on the video screaming, “IS IT A LOOP?” And I honestly don’t think it is.

Chapter 5, timeline wise, ended with the bright flash that ended the Ink Demon. With ‘The End’. The sequence in Joey’s house afterwards took place before chapter 1- not directly after, like shown in the video, but close to it. 

And I should stop for now because I need a bit of time to scream at the ceiling. And see if the official version is being played yet.
