Who said “I love you” firstJo convinced Dean on a dare to slow dance with her in a mostly empty bar to the song playing on the jukebox (it was Blue Christmas in the middle of summer), and she told him she loved him with her arms wrapped around his neck. She told him not to make a big deal out of it, but Dean teased her mercilessly (oh, you LOVE ME?) for at least a full minute before he told her he loved her too.

Who would have the other’s picture as their phone backgroundOne time she took Dean’s phone without him knowing and filled it up with goofy selfies which he found quite accidentally a while later. The one Dean puts as his background is one where she’s genuinely cracking up in between making goofy faces; he rarely sees her so happy and she’s even more beautiful when she laughs like that. 

Who leaves notes written in fog on the bathroom mirrorNeither since they always shower together.

Who buys the other cheesy giftsDean loves to buy her little things while he’s on the road with Sam, goofy touristy stuff, the weirdest things he can find, just so he can see that adorable baffled, forehead scrunch/chuckle thing she does.

Who initiated the first kissDean leaned in to kiss her, lips so close he could almost taste her, eyes half-lidded, and he wanted to kiss her so badly he felt like he was burning up inside, but he waited until she pushed up on her toes, lips meeting his first, tongue swirling into his mouth, slick and sweet at first, hotter and more desperate as they kept kissing.

Who kisses the other awake in the morningDean kisses her awake in the morning, loves to see her eyes flutter open and get that warm look when she sees him, the smile that she gets just for him.

Who starts tickle fightsDean can’t keep his hands off her, honestly, that’s why he does it. She’s a hell of a tickle fighter though, gives as good as she gets.

Who asks who if they can join the other in the showerDean’s whizzing into the toilet when she walks into the bathroom, strips and gets in the shower. He asks because he isn’t sure and she turns the shower head on him, spraying him in the face. He gets his revenge once he’s in the shower in the best possible way.

Who surprises the other in the middle of the day at work with lunchJo likes to bring him food when she can, interesting variations on his favorites. One time she brings him a bacon wrapped hot dog with tons of trimmings piled so high she can barely see the meat, another she brings him a deep fried bacon cheeseburger. Dean’s always excited to see what she brings this time.

Who was nervous and shy on the first dateDean was nervous on their first date. It’s not like he’d been on a lot of actual DATES before, and he’d really wanted to impress her. Thankfully, she’d thought it was cute.

Who kills/takes out the spidersDean kills the spiders, carefully, from a FAR distance away, because that’s what a guy is supposed to do for his girl no matter how he feels about the skittery, sneaky things.

Oh yeah! :D I wrote it during the summer of 2008 (on LJ), June through August for the original story. Of course it wasn’t posted on AO3 until 2012 because AO3 wasn’t a thing back in 2008. How time flies! I LOVE that people are still enjoying it all these years later.

Hmm... you know, I’ve very rarely gone outside my main two pairings of Sam/Dean and Jared/Jensen. I’ve written Dean het more than a few times, Dean/Cas and Sam/Cas once or twice, Sam/Dean/Cas a few times. I’ve also done a few J2M short porn stories. 

I’ve sometimes written a secondary pairing in my longer stories. Chad/Misha is a favorite of mine (in Homework verse). Chad/Sandy (in Homework verse and Until You’re Resting Here With Me). Jensen/Justin Hartley (in Beautiful Disaster).

This may come as a surprise, but I’m not really interested in writing/reading JDM paired with anyone. He’s a good looking man, but I’m just not attracted to him/don’t see him that way. I think it’s because I get the “dad” vibe from him lol

I should probably just have WINCEST + J2 FOREVER tattooed on my forehead LOL

They are absolutely my favorite boys and I love them to pieces (I swear they exist in an alternate universe somewhere and I just channel their story). @chamsp Hi again! Thanks for another so kind, so lovely message! I haven’t heard of this film but I will definitely have to check it out 😊. In general, I tend to develop the concept for a story because a scene pops up fully developed in my brain, and then I build the story around it. How do we get to that place, and what comes after? Sometimes the scene is enough for the whole story (like in My heart feels like a ghost), sometimes it’s a little piece (like in Last Call). That’s definitely true here—one very crystallized scene was the first piece my brain gave me, so I started to build and plan the story of how we get there.

I also wanted to write a ballet AU because I’ve always loved ballet, and in particular I’ve always found the male ballet dancer “body type” to be extremely artistic and beautiful—long lines, lean muscle, incredible strength, those fucking thighs tho, etc. I look at lots of male ballet dancers on Instagram because I like to look at them, so I guess it just followed from that interest. I’d also been wanting to write stories that played with (imbalanced) power dynamics and naive teenage infatuation, so this story will allow me to get into those elements. And some other people out there in the lovely tumblrsphere that I’m friends with are very into ballet dancing Sam/Jared, so their excitement also made me excited!

Lastly no, I don’t have any dance experience whatsoever. One of the reasons it can take me forever to write is that I do a lot lot lot of research in an effort to get terminology right and treat something they way it would be treated by a person with experience. I’m more successful sometimes than others, for sure. But I know nothing drives me more crazy in a fic than someone getting factual information wrong that could EASILY be found by a single google search. I’m particularly sensitive to this in lawyer/law school student AUs, since that’s my profession and I’ve been through law school. But it bothers me everywhere because I’m a jerk.
