In these buttery and delicious cookies, enjoy the warm and cozy flavors of chai spices. Ideal for a relaxing afternoon tea or a sweet treat at any time of day.
Ingredients: 1 cup unsalted butter, softened. 1/2 cup granulated sugar. 2 cups all-purpose flour. 1 teaspoon chai spice mix cinnamon, cardamom, ginger, cloves. 1/4 teaspoon salt. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract. 1 tablespoon milk. Additional sugar and chai spice mix for rolling.
Instructions: In a mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Add the vanilla extract and milk to the butter mixture, and mix until well combined. In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, chai spice mix, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until a dough forms. Do not overmix. Cover the dough with plastic wrap and refrigerate for about 30 minutes. Preheat the oven to 350F 175C and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. In a small bowl, mix some granulated sugar and chai spice mix for rolling the cookie dough. Scoop small portions of the chilled dough and roll them into balls. Roll each dough ball in the sugar and chai spice mixture to coat it evenly. Place the coated dough balls on the prepared baking sheet, leaving some space between each cookie. Use a fork or the bottom of a glass to gently flatten each cookie. Bake in the preheated oven for about 12-15 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown. Remove the cookies from the oven and allow them to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
