Makoto Naegi from Danganronpa - Many of my closest friends would expect me to pick Kirigiri for multiple reasons, but something about Makoto’s personality deeply connected with me while playing DR1 in a way most male protags do not. Throughout the series he keeps a low opinion of himself, he avoids violence in favor of words and his wits, and he always puts loads of faith in his friends.

Yuno Gasai from The Future Diary/Mirai Nikki - Everyone’s got at least one problematic fav, right? Yuno’s sympathetic yet insane, tragic yet horrifying, intelligent yet mentally compromised. She’s sometimes heroic, sometimes villainous, frequently disturbing, and unbelievably badass.

Ellen Ripley from Alien - Honestly, how many people wouldn’t choose her as their favorite from this franchise? Whenever I encounter the fans who feel the Alien should be the central focus instead of the humans and who are sick of hearing about Ripley, I side-eye them suspiciously.
