i love how akutagawa is atsushi's perfect foil, in a sense. and he never hesitates to make him see reason either, while being understanding of why atsushi hesitates when he does. it gives perspective to them both. because atsushi would regret it whether or not he saves people in the now or if he saves them through dostoevsky, but he would regret it too if he sat there with his hands tied. then, no one can be saved.

akutagawa's ability to focus on the bigger picture and force atsushi to do so as well is what makes them such a great duo. they help each other see different perspectives instead of getting tunnel visioned. the influence they both have on each other's character development is vv well written

The time loop theory is honestly so scary and I kinda do believe it? It makes soooo much sense. But none at the same time...? For those of you who don't know the time loop theory is the theory that the universe we're currently in is the og universe. The theory basically speaks about how we're in a time loop and the reason Hanako's fate was able to change was BECAUSE of Nene, and that's why she has a short lifespan, it's her sacrifice in order to get back to the old timeline. Kako says

"'Every new owner arrogantly believed they would do better and turned back time again and again to fulfill their desires. But not one of them obtained the future they wished for. In vain, they warped the present... and fell to ruin lost in despair,'"

NENE IS THAT YOU?????? Ok but seriously, if the theory is true that means Nene probably went back in time to before and sacrificed her life and all that. But what is she went back even further? We know the hourglass WANTS to be used, it could've convinced Nene to try and save Hanako. So he wouldn't have died in the first place. Maybe SHE'S the reason the reason he ends up killing his brother, the more you go back in time the more reality starts to get distorted, maybe she triggers something that makes Amane kill Tsukasa. The biggest flaw in this theory is how would Nene have met Amane if she's from the current timeline, and my answer to that is I HAVE NO IDEA! THE WONDERS OF BEING PART OF THR TBHK FANDOMS ARE VERY LARGE!!! Supernaturals still exist no mater what, and we know she's prone to some time related issues so maybe she still meets baby amane and he makes the whole "I want to meet Nene-oneesan" wish again and that's what creates the cycle. I honestly don't know, that is so far reaching I dont even think it should be considered a theory 😭. But it's fun to think about. If nothing else we know Nene is HEAVILY involved with time. Which is especially evident in recent chapters. So she definitely has a very large connection to it.

1) kimchi is obsessed with jangcheol and Knows him better than anyone despite not really knowing him. he'd never seen him before, he didn't even know he existed as a person, but everything he is was created by jangcheol so of course those little habits of his that no one really notices are like a neon sign to him. because jangcheol is really all he Knows.

2) the other is an archbishop to a religion dedicated to perfection. he's probably trained to notice patterns and when something is out of place. jangcheol doing everything in tens is probably noticeable to him because he's... a breath of fresh air in a world of chaos? even if he's unnerved at the unnatural behavior, it is still something that alligns with the very goal of his worship.
