Me: *using insulin pen as a wand* Accio new pancreas
Was I diagnosed with diabetes a few weeks ago? Yes. Am I going to eat these 5 pieces of chocolate I just got in one sitting? Also yes. Self care
Why so salty?
I feel like my url deserves a little explanation. I’m not (usually) a *salty* person but here’s why.
I have Cystic Fibrosis, it’s a chronic illness that affects the lungs, digestive system and more. We are best known for our chronic coughs but it’s much more than that. CF also affects sweat glands and the amount of salt that I release when I sweat which leads to extremely salty-tasting skin. (Don’t be gross y’all, a kiss on the head is all you need to taste the salt.) My body loses a LOT of salt when I sweat. Like a LOT. So I crave salt and I eat LOADS of it which is awesome when people tell me eating too much is bad for my cholesterol I lay them down with FACTS which is I . Need . Salt . And lots of it.
I am forever “Salty” and I love it. So that’s why I’m a SALTY SWIFTY. Any other Salty Swifties on here?
First Post
Hi everyone!
After thinking for a while about what topics I wanted to post about, I decided to choose topics that I myself am actually intimately familiar with, as I have Cystic Fibrosis, and recently also have been diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis-related diabetes.
On some days, I might post information about these topics, and on other days I will just try to spread awareness by doing more simple things, for example, I might post my blood sugar (mmol/L), and whether or not I coughed a lot, or if I had trouble breathing.
But yeah, thats it for this introductory post. I hope that my blog will be helpful in spreading awareness for these causes.

After a messy month of glucose readings, my doctor approved using Novorapid. Hopefully this helps with my meal induced spikes due to CF.
I’m also glad he’s planning on starting me on a pump to help with my day to day activities after determining the bolus needed.
Things are working out for the better El7mdellah ♥️♥️
Cystic Fibrosis
It may be a disease but it’s NOT a weakness
CF is the gift that keeps on giving—this time, it brought NTM and a hospital stay. CFRD tagging along, as usual.
It’s hard to explain what it feels like to fight your own body every day. The exhaustion hits different when your lungs feel like they’re filled with glass and your blood sugar is doing gymnastics. But here's the thing: I'm still here. Breathing, battling, and holding onto hope with both hands.
This isn't a cry for sympathy—it's a reminder. A reminder that surviving is a form of strength. That getting up, taking meds, doing treatments, advocating for your care... that’s brave as hell.
To my fellow chronic illness warriors: your story isn’t over. You are not your diagnosis. You are fire wrapped in flesh, and even on your worst days, you are enough.
I'm not out of the woods yet, but I'm walking through it with my head high.
