HERE WE ARE, omg I'm so happy we have him too! I was coloring his hair and beard black, but I remembered that he is the son of Hera, and if I had made him that way, he would have had very little to do with her. And that's why I decided to at least make his hair and beard the same color as his mother's hair. I wouldn't call him ugly, as many people often describe him. He may be a bit of a workaholic, and his legs may not be as strong and agile as the other Olympians, but he's a truly badass god. The chair is almost certainly Cedalion, his assistant in the forge and, well, his support.

In Greek mythology, Cedalion was a servant of Hephaestus in Lemnos. According to one tradition, he was Hephaestus's tutor, with whom Hera fostered her son on Naxos to teach him smithcraft. The most common story of Cedalion tells of his part in the healing of Orion, who came to Lemnos after he was blinded. Orion took up Cedalion and set the youth upon his shoulders for a guide to the East. There the rays of Helios restored Orion's sight. X

Thanks a lot for the info! I had a very vague impression that I might have seen it mentioned in one book or another, but I could not for the life of me remember any details.
