Happy Sunday, everyone! Here's my new fanvid. This is one of several I’ve made (subscribe to my YT channel see more in the future!) where all I set out to do was take all of my big big feelings about a movie I adore and compress them into a 4-minute song. It doesn’t concern me that “Wonderwall” has become sort of a meme song, that it’s such a well-known cultural artifact that folks seem to love it only “ironically” – I think it’s one of the most beautiful songs ever written, its lyrics and production are timeless, and its combination of yearning, contemplation, and awe fits perfectly with Close Encounters, a film so gorgeous and legendary, I hardly need to expound upon it further here. There’s no tricks in this vid, I’m not trying to be too clever with the editing – this is simply a love letter <3

Sometimes I think this is the best thing Spielberg ever shot. It’s not even the whole scene. Master.
