Nox is not amused about him trying to chat him up about what he's doing. Chase is not amused about having to wait half an hour to do his job. It's hopeless, really.

Synopsis:

“Violet Keylock has recently been appointed as the CEO of her family’s fashion empire- Liberty X and is having trouble keeping an assistant, all applicants have so far been lazy, arrogant or simply incompetent in her eyes, until she hires Chase Hollow, a bright- sunny-eyed, slightly harebrained, 21 year-old who jumped straight from school to working as his Mother’s assistant in her accounting firm.

Chase is, surprisingly, capable of keeping up with Violet’s chaotic workflow and (more importantly) is the only person able to handle her tasks and meetings with the absurdity and unorthodox thinking needed(bonus points in that he has her very detailed coffee order memorised). He quickly becomes Violet’s assistant in her personal life as well, growing close with her head designer of the couture line, Silvia, and develops an unlikely bond with her grumpy little brother and head of accounting, Nox; after managing to get his narcissistic ex-girlfriend off his back.

With Chase’s assistance Violet finally begins advancing the company and manages to fulfill her parent’s expectations of her- though worries begin to rise when Nox starts developing feelings for Chase because - Nox why in the bloody hell do you have to get involved with the only person capable of making this job somewhat bearable?!!!”

Key points for the story:

- Violet and Nox are the adopted siblings of the Keylock family who for 3 generations have owned and run the world famous fashion company Liberty X, known for its department centres- exclusive couture line- several perfume brands- and it’s very own magazine. Not to mention the several yearly fashion events hosted and funded by the company.

- Nox before the main time-line of the story dated Cashley McMenson (at the demand of his parents) who is also an American heiress to their family’s generational wealth. He broke up with her, and Cashley has not taken it well, slandering him on social media and turning up to events trying to get back with him.

- Chase lives in an old 18th century building apartment, found for him by his adopted parents, (biological Aunt and Uncle) Beth and Dale. He lives there with his three cats Cinnabon, Pistachio and his kitten- Mocha.

- The apartment building is owned by Mrs G and Chase often lets her daughter come and play with his pet cats- mainly with Mocha. He is also often visited by his brother who lives nearby.

- Deacon is an aspiring author currently working as an editor at a publishing company- currently failing at his love life and visits Chase to mope about it and pet Cinnabon for comfort.

- Chase applied for the job, thank to his experience as Beth’s assistant and love for fashion- and even though she can be temperamental and demanding- loves working for Violet.

- Nox becomes a huge help in Chase adjusting to the company- they often work together managing the financial and event aspects of the work, with Nox slowly developing a crush on the blonde.

- Though he will have to face some trials and obstacles before getting to actually ask Chase out- Chase’s territorial kitties, his protective parents, a popular model who begins to take an interest in Chase, and most notably his own sister who really does not want to lose Chase as an assistant if so god him and Nox do not work out.
