Continued from here w/ @kisumitenderly !!

The warm feeling of acceptance spreads through Carmichael’s chest upon hearing Kisumi’s laughter at his little jest.  Carmichael’s chapped lips tingle with discomfort as he smiles brightly.  The validation he’d received from the Kisumi’s laugh made him happy to oblige to any request the young man made of him.

“I was born in December— December 17th to be exact, should date matter.”  Carmichael recalls that some astrologists require a birth time as well. His smile falters slighty and he shifts from one foot to the other.  “I hope you don’t need the exact time.  I was adopted at a young age, so I don’t have that information.” 

The frown on Carmichael’s face only grows as Sasha continues to put themselves down.  He tries to look at it from the former dancer’s perspective, but the priest’s mind is too clouded by his own faith to fully put himself into his companion’s shoes.  Carmichael would have held fast to the idea that God had other things planned for him.  Carmichael chews on the inside of his cheeks to refrain from asking Sasha about their own faith. 

Indeed, there was no sarcasm in the young woman’s voice.  A princess. One could practically see the cogs turnining in Carmichael’s head as he tries to determine the meaning of such a statement.  No, she couldn’t meant she was actual royalty! Perhaps it meant she was social-media famous? Yeah. That had to be it.

“Must just be a familiar face, then.” Carmichael determines with crunched brows.  Quickly, his expression of being deep in thought melts into an easy-going smile.    “I’m not big on the social medias.  Why, my Facebook picture is over 10 years old! Oho.” No one even uses Facebook anymore, Carm. 

Now that he’s no longer deep in thought, golden eyes are able to take in her discomfort.  Oh.  Yes, he imagines being a petite woman being approached by a massive man would be uncomfortable.  He takes a large step back and changes the subject.  Warm eyes land on iced coffee.
