Every time I listen to this song i always remember HIM!
Still...You
Based on these posts. James, my love 💓 I hope, he has a good ending in the manhwa.
For most of your life, your schedule had remained more or less the same, until your children left for college.
It took you a while to truly realize the gravity of it all. Aging was an honour, you had come to understand, and sometimes, when you looked back on an ordinary day like this—getting ready to go somewhere with your husband—you couldn't help but smile.
Ah, your husband.
James Lee.
The fake name, Diego Kang, had finally been discarded and left behind.
Sometimes, you still smiled at the memory of it. Back then, you had hated Daniel Park for exposing your husband, especially when James had nearly been on the brink of death. The new chapter of your life with James had been turbulent, filled with hardship and moments neither of you would ever forget.
But it had taught you both so much.
Most importantly, it had taught you to appreciate each other more.
James was a changed man, too.
Now, you sat in front of the mirror, trying to decide which earrings would go best with your clothes, when James appeared behind you. He leaned down slightly and pointed toward a pair of gold earrings.
“How about these?” he asked.
You looked at them through the mirror.
James had aged alongside you.
And unlike the man he had once been—the man who was constantly changing his personality, his habits, even his appearance—he no longer felt the need to pretend.
His hair was still black, but strands of silver had begun to creep in around the edges.
He didn't dye it anymore. He had no reason to.
And God, how much you loved his hair. Especially his red hair.
You remembered how, during the early years of his life, James had possessed this maddening urge to convince everyone that everything was fine. He had always believed he had to carry everything himself. No matter how badly the world was collapsing around him, he refused to lean on you.
But your James had changed.
Over the years, you had seen him go from carrying the heaviest burdens in silence to allowing you to share even the smallest problems with him.
From the thickest misery to the most mundane inconveniences.
From the day you married and exchanged your vows, through your pregnancy and everything that followed, James had slowly learned what it meant to let someone love him.
He pushed you to return to work when you wanted to, reminding you that you were still allowed to have a life outside motherhood.
He reminded you that you didn't have to feel guilty on the days when you didn't feel like a perfect mother.
He stayed beside you on the days you were sick, messy, exhausted, and couldn't be bothered to do anything.
He was there on the days you cried but tried to hide it.
And he was there on the days when you remembered the past and wondered how the two of you had managed to come this far.
James gently tapped the top of your head.
“Is it too much trouble for you?” he asked. “Just go with whatever you like.”
Your attention returned to the present. You realized he was still standing behind you.
You looked at him through the mirror.
Unlike the usual chatter about how men who entered politics aged badly, your man had aged with considerable grace.
He might not have been the fastest anymore. His path had long since been surpassed by Daniel Park's.
But he was still handsome.
Ridiculously so.
How could you forget the number of times people had asked about him whenever the two of you went out?
You remembered the ahjummas who would subtly ask whether your “friend” was single.
Your friend was your husband.
You would have to bite back a laugh before telling them, “My friend is with me.”
The disappointment on their faces had been priceless.
And then there were the ahjussis, whose stomachs had long since begun to protrude, who would sometimes ask you questions about your sex life with an enthusiasm that made you want the ground to swallow you whole.
There had been plenty of awkward moments.
But James was still number one to you.
He always had been.
It had simply taken him a while to understand the importance of that place in your heart.
To understand how important it was to have you rather than to conquer the world.
The world had never truly been kind to James. If anything, it had treated him with unnecessary cruelty.
But you?
You had always been there. You had always welcomed him with open arms.
With love.
With respect.
With a home he never had to earn.
James had taken a long time to understand what that meant.
But when he finally built that beautiful life with you, something in him seemed to finally ease.
And now, as you sat in your chair looking at yourself in the mirror, with James standing behind you and one hand resting reassuringly on your shoulder, you couldn't help but smile.
“Any earring will work,” he assured you.
You reached up and took his hand, bringing it to your lips and kissing it.
“You need to be more specific. You actually bought all of these.”
You looked down at his hands.
James's hands.
They were marked by time now.
The same hands that had once been associated with cruelty, violence, and blood were now wrinkled and slightly weaker than they had been when he was feared as the legend of the First Generation.
But that was okay.
Those same hands had held your children's hands.
They had taught them how to walk.
They had carried them when they were tired.
They had held yours through every difficult moment.
They were warm against yours, even with the wrinkles.
“I’m getting old,” James said casually. “Maybe I can't make quick decisions anymore.”
He tilted your head slightly and pressed a kiss to your forehead.
Your forehead wasn't the same anymore either. There were fine lines there now.
But did that really matter?
You smiled.
“I'll go with the diamond studs. They always work.”
James pulled your hair back so you could put them on properly.
And for a moment, you were reminded of another pair of earrings.
The heart-shaped ones he'd bought you back in high school.
Back when the two of you were just teenagers trying to survive the world.
Two kids who had no idea where life would take them.
And now?
Your children had grown up and left to pursue lives of their own.
And you were standing beside your husband the boy you had loved at fifteen, the boy who had somehow grown into the man you married, the man who was still beside you in your fifties.
James had never made you feel alone.
He never would.
For as long as you could remember, James had always been by your side.
“Tone down that perfume,” you said as you watched him apply a little cologne to his wrist. “You're always the centre of attention.”
“Jealous?” he asked.
“No,” you replied. “I'm just cautious. The other ladies might get their hearts broken.”
James smiled.
It was different now.
There were wrinkles around his eyes. His smile wasn't quite as sharp as it had once been.
But it was still James.
And whether you were two awkward teenagers, newlyweds struggling to find your footing, exhausted parents raising children, or two people navigating life well past their supposed prime, it didn't matter.
You still had him.
You still had the man you had once thought you might lose.
And after everything you had survived together, you felt nothing but gratitude that the love of your life was still standing beside you.
Still here.
Still yours.
“Shall we go?” James asked.
You stood and turned toward him.
“Yes.”
You took his hand.
His fingers intertwined with yours naturally, as though they had been made to fit there.
After all these years, James Lee would still hold your hand.
And somehow, you knew he always would.
Okay, so I have another theory more like a hypothesis, honestly🥀
I think Yongho party—the one James joined—is a conservative, possibly even right-wing, party. Why? Well, looking at the patterns, I can actually see a pretty clear trajectory.
James is already on the road toward absolute control, and on top of that, we have Kitae been the king of the underworld. Now, if you look at how fascism historically tends to operate, it often feeds on an ultra-nationalist identity portraying the nation and its cultural identity as being under threat.
And that’s where Kitae comes in.
Kitae is half-Yamazaki, and he will most likely bring his Mexican cartel connections into Korea, essentially unleashing another wave of chaos. So I can see James and his party exploiting that situation politically.
They could portray the current government as completely incompetent and incapable of protecting the country. And, honestly, considering how useless the government has been so far 😔 that wouldn't exactly be difficult to sell. Like hello, what was Pacheon doing in Incheon freely?
Then comes the question of national identity being threatened by outsiders.
The Yamazakis have already invaded Korea in the past, so Kitae being connected to them and potentially bringing his cartel members into the country, would make him an even bigger threat in the eyes of the public.
And this is where I think Kitae could become extremely important to James’s political strategy.
James could use the chaos surrounding Kitae as leverage to construct this image of himself as the person who can finally restore order. He could present himself and his party as the ones who will protect Korea, its people, its security, and its national identity from these foreign threats.
Basically, the narrative could become look at what happens when the government is weak. Look at what happens when outsiders are allowed to threaten our country. We are the ones who can stop this. We are the ones who can restore order and if you look at how right-wing authoritarian regimes often construct their propaganda, there is a familiar pattern there. They create the perception that the country is in decline, identify an external or internal enemy responsible for that decline, and then position themselves as the only force capable of restoring the nation to its former strength.
Which is why I can genuinely see James’s political arc heading in that direction.
And honestly? It sucks if James ends up having that ideology, but at the same time, it wouldn't exactly be surprising considering the direction his character has been heading in 🥀
Also, tell me why I can already imagine his campaign slogan being...
MAKE KOREA GREAT AGAIN
Beloved Gooners

Friendly reminder that James will actually be a very good boyfriend/lover for those who have a praise kink 😛
This man has openly praised so many people despite being ridiculously egotistical, and I swear to God, if you need a man who does you dirty while praising you and reminding you how beautiful you are, James is THE man.
Him praising Daniel, then reassuring J that he did good, and even praising the 1st Gen Kings too 🦧 Heheheh.
No, wait... I know it's the same face syndrome and laziness, but they look so much alike🥹
Crystal, come back and beat your evil brother 🌸😸 I see so much of Eunha in them🥀 I am delulu
Can you make lookism characters as a yandere husband? (Especially Gun, james and Kitae)
I don't know how to write yandere that much, so these are mid🥀
GUN PARK
He is a calm yandere the kind who never lets his inner demon show unless provoked.
He gives you an almost ridiculous amount of freedom. Go out, have friends, pursue your career he won't stop you. But that doesn't mean he isn't monitoring everything.
If he ever senses even the slightest cross in boundaries or detects a potential threat, he steps in immediately and shows you exactly why he is your husband. If you complain that he's being possessive, he'd genuinely look confused.
"I am your husband. What's the problem?"
Gun remembers everything about you. Your routines, your habits, your favorite foods, the people you dislike, the places you frequent... He could recognize your signature scent anywhere.
Gun believes in self-sufficiency, but that doesn't mean he'd ever let you feel like he isn't providing for you. The moment you need something, everything gets dropped and worked out for you within seconds.
He'll barge in on you at any time, on any day, just to ask how things are going. Then, depending on where you are and who you're with, he'll carefully evaluate the place and everyone around you before casually reminding you that his eyes are always on you.
JAMES LEE
Soft yandere means James is a yandere, you don't even have to label him as one. He's a sweetheart of a yandere husband to you.
He keeps a very close watch on what you do and don't do. Everything is carefully monitored.
He doesn't stalk you. Nah. He already has men trailing you and sending him updates.
There's a camera in the living room, too, so if something bad happens, he can know immediately. And, admittedly, it also lets him keep an eye on whether you're still loyal to him.
He's way too prideful and has far too much self-control to ever let his obsession show openly. On the surface, he'll appear completely cool and composed. Underneath it all, though, he desperately wants to keep you locked away somewhere only he can access where you're only allowed to see him, where he becomes your sun and moon, and where nobody else gets even an inch of you.
And the worst part?
He'll manipulate you so softly that you'll eventually start believing everything he's doing is reasonable.
Little by little, he'll isolate you from the outside world. Your friends become inconvenient. Your career becomes unnecessary. Going out becomes something you simply don't need anymore.
Eventually, even if he's traveling across the world, he'll be perfectly content knowing you're safe inside his enormous mansion and that only he has access to you.
KITAE KIM
Another yandere who doesn't need the label.
A crazy, lust-driven yandere.
He'll keep you chained up if he has to. You'd most likely have no career, no independent life, and no social circle besides him.
You are practically his possession but one he treats with the utmost care and affection because you're his wife. In his mind, as your husband, it's his duty to protect, provide for, and take care of his beloved wife.
He's crazy, possessive, and territorial.
Why did you even look at another man for a second?
He'll tilt your jaw toward him and kiss you hard enough to leave you breathless, making it very clear that his jealousy isn't something you can simply laugh off.
His attachment to you borders on destructive, which is exactly why he keeps you confined to that one room where you have every luxury in the world.
Everything you could possibly need is there.
Food. Clothes. Entertainment. Comfort.
You have everything...except freedom.
And if you ever tell him you're frightened of him, he'll take your chin gently in his hand and ask,
"Mi amor... are you trying to escape me?"
You don't have a choice. You don't say anything.
His expression softens. He kisses your forehead gently before murmuring,
"You and I are meant to be. I'll keep you safe and secure here."
