I truly want to get it across to people that period festivals and SCA events are extremely diverse and acceptin'. O' course ye get the odd bit o' drama or a piece o' shit here and there but overall, it is an embracin' scene. I've befriended disfugured people, blind, homeless, disabled, various races and cultures, skinny, overweight, LGBTQ+, deaf, dyin', autistic, depressed, young, old, etc... Looks don't matter at all. Age and ability doesn't matter. As long as everyone is havin' fun and comin' together, it should be a safe space and a great community. This is why I never understand why sometimes Right-wingers and Trump cultists join the community and hate on diversity. It's literally the opposite mentality. It's more than just politics, it's values and ideologies buttin' heads. Positivity. It's ok to love someone ye are no longer with. It's ok to cherish positive memories from the ones that slipped through yer fingers. It's ok to understand that we all need to retain positive feelings. Jealousy and untrust are not ok.
