Just survived a pretty rough week at sea. We got hit with a really bad squall about two (??) days into the trip (while at anchor). We ended up setting the second anchor. There may or may not have been a waterspout. (I blame the student that spent the whole first day whistling) I got absolutely no sleep on the third (??) night and somehow still didn't sleep well on the fourth (??) night either
But at the end of the week I got to see one of my absolute favorite tallship friends (and also this absolute queen👇) so idk maybe it was all worth it
Battle in the Mediterranean Sea in the 1790's by Edouard Groult
I lost a bit of quality in the transfer to show you the incredible art of Edouard, but it remains absolutely fantastic! It reminds me the french books "The Adventures of Captain Belmonte" (Les Aventures du Capitaine Belmonte), by Fabien Clauw !
Here is his description :
"_ The French revolutionary marine suffered quite a lot from political and military changes happening in France, however they had some successes over the Royal Navy. Here a division is about to capture a food convoy, after neutralising its escort. The unlucky British ship is dismasted but not sunk. Ironically it was a French ship of the line captured by the Royal Navy, and now re-recaptured by the previous owner.
_ Made for Osprey, the last picture is the final artwork, as this battle happened at 2pm, and not in the evening. Yes I had to change all my lightings 😆 and a better composition too 🫤"

A great way to end off one of the best weeks of my life. I am still trying to find the words of what the last few days have ment to me, and rest assured, they will be shared at some point.
But for now, my soul is so full of joy for the ships that were sailed, and the shipmates reunited.

IT'S TIME GANG!
The ships are arriving in Boston for one of the biggest tallship gatherings in the USA of the decade!
Tomorrow is the parade of sail, you just know ya girl is going to be flipping her shit out on the water. 🫡
The festival isn't even in full swing yet and I have already gotten to reunite with so many of my old shipmates!
