Have you ever had Sunese delight, Hidan? You've been granted a taste. Upon the windowsill is a⦠tureen, yes. It's⦠well, certainly someone spent the effort to shape and fire and paint it. Inside is a modest pile of sugar-dusted squares, soft and sticky. The outer layer and majority are a gentle pink, for the traditional rosewater, but the rest are an assortment of colours and flavours. Cinnamon, mint, coffee, orange, violet, pomegranate, chocolate, some are even studded within with walnuts. Dried petals are pressed to the outside of some, held by the natural tackiness of the dessert in question.
It was just the right amount of odd to immediately capture his attention.
He snatched it up like an eager child, only noticing that it was a container until he began to turn it around in his hands.
Candy.
At least it looked like candy.
There was only one way to find out for sure.
Taking one of them between two fingers he popped it into his mouth without an ounce of hesitation.
Coffee. Sweet and bitter at the same time.
Indulgent.
It would be hard not to eat them all at once.
