i first got into black butler when i was like 12 or smth... i immediately shipped sebaciel and like looking back on it... i kinda wanna throw up. i first stopped w/ that shit once an actual adult called me out on that fuckery when i was like 13 and i realized how fucked up it was. like everyone i was around were 100% cool and encouraging about it and it just makes me feel so nasty thinking about it. and most of them were adults too.. sebaciel is so toxic and gross and just... why is it a thing
yeah!! like... it’s so heavily encouraged within the fandom? it’s so gross. i can totally get like,,, thirteen year olds (or around that age range) yelling abt their fave ship (in this case, sebaciel) together (most ppl don’t know any better- i made a lot of cringe choices when i was 13) but.. actual adults encouraging kids abt it? that’s disgusting, and it happens frequently. shipping can be a rlly cool thing! but when ppl start shipping irl ppl (aka dan & phil, shane & ryan, members of exo, etc...) or delving into the sibling / sibling, adult / child, or just straight-up fetishizing (mostly gay ships lol) it’s just... not a good time anymore. thank you!
