❣ How salty are you feeling right now?
The sodium levels are way up there.
❧ Have you ever been jealous of anyone?
Not necessarily, I mean nothing more than most of us experience every once in a while— actually, I retract that: I have been, but not in the traditional sense. I was in the ASOIAF/GOT fandom for a while, a few years back as Tyrion initially, until I ultimately changed the blog into one for Daenerys. And there was one depiction of her that I admired in regards to their immense understanding of her character, but I got jealous because of the attention that they received. No, not in that way. I was jealous because Daenerys is a character that is very secluded in her own part of that world and the people that are imperative to her are ‘minor’ characters, in other words— not many would pick them up. Whenever someone actually did, they often flocked to that specific Daenerys due to her sheer popularity, and because the use of exclusivity was at its very peak at the time, it was suggested to them and they often seemed to very gladly say yes. It was possibly the most demoralizing thing I’ve come across as a writer around here. It’s a big reason as to why I’ll never be a fan of exclusivity and will not practice it; because I know what it can feel like and honestly, I rarely see a positive to it at all.
✉ A fandom that you feel is open and accepting?
Ironically enough, despite my last answer; the ASOIAF/GOT fandom when I was in it roughly three years ago. There were a few bad apples and I won’t lie, it’s a bit of an intimidating fandom due to the sheer amount of detail in GRRM’s books; but once I found my footing and dared message people, I was so pleasantly surprised by how welcoming and warm they were, I still have numerous friends from back then that I talk to almost daily today. Despite it having been and still being a fandom that knows a massive rift between the book and show watchers and RPers, I only witnessed some butting of heads on one or two occasions and it was nothing severe; while they did keep to their respective corners, each seemed more than willing to meet you halfway. I’m glad I experienced it when I did.
☢ What fads/trends are you so over?
This trend of privately or publicly guilt-tripping people into interacting with them or even for interacting with duplicates of their muse. This should never be a thing, ever. I cut people like that out of my life and off my dashboard as quickly as I breathe, and I’ll always motivate people to do the same. There is nothing healthy, remotely positive or forgivable about that kind of behavior, but I see it happening more and more often. Are people not interacting with you? Go after them with all the fire of motivation that you possess— don’t have it? Then the muse you have before you is probably not the one for you (and this not a bad thing). It’s simply, trust me, if you have and feel passion for your muse, you won’t let yourself get demotivated, you won’t let things hold you back, because you’ll have a spirit that can’t really be stilled. Are duplicates intimidating? Then either find your way to shy away from them or let that insecurity drive you; let it make you better, let it drive you to improve. I’m not saying anyone who experiences insecurity is a lesser writer, not by any means— but let it make you even better than you already are.
☀ What’s your rp pet peeve?
Sanity save my life, but I absolutely loathe that aesthetic trend on blogs that require me to hover over the post content (or description) box for it to appear. I despise it with such a strong passion. I don’t want to have to hover over anything to see it. We’re writing, we’re here to write— why are some people’s writing HIDDEN? Hmm?! And then sometimes, it’s combined with this small 250px width box and I cannot. I’ve entirely x’d out of blogs before when there’s too much stuff hidden and difficult to read. I’m sorry, but I’m here to write with other people, that requires me to be able to read their stuff— so if people make it some variant of ‘Where’s Waldo?’, where I have to put too effort and strain on my eyes and my sanity than is, in all fairness, needed, I’m out. Because apparently, people wanting to read content isn’t wanted. So you know, I simply won’t do it. It won’t be my loss.
