Prickly Pair Gif Set
I’ve been watching Steven Universe again
Quite frankly I don’t remember the show having so many therapy lessons in it- not that I’m complaining it was just so much more than I thought-
Agh! Why do I need to be needed?

Steven Universe deserves a mini series of 1 hour specials like what Adventure Time got, featuring stories like:
Steven cross country road trip where Jasper secretly tags along to protect her Diamond because she feels like it. They run into Cactus Steven along the way. Terrible hijinks ensue. They end up with a better understanding of each other and part ways peacefully. Jasper and Cactus Steven become besties.
Post-SUF Lars of the Stars adventure that gives us more insight into gem culture and the current political atmosphere in Homeworld. We also get some backstory on the off-colors.
A special based on the story from Unleash the Light. Hessonite, Pyrope, and Demantoid deserve to be fully animated.
Little Homeworld hijinks, such as all the gems planning a welcome home party for Steven. Things go terribly wrong and when he shows up they're practically engaged in a second gem war. Steven gets to say the one and only "guys, what the fuck?" in the show /j
To maintain the original integrity of the show, each episode is told from Steven's perspective, whether he's actually a part of the story or if someone is recounting it to him later. I need this.
Okay hear me out ...
Estranged father Steven to his plant children.
I've been imagining lately that cactus Steven and the topiary Stevens
(These guys if you don't remember)
Formed identities of their own and have become their own people and they all have their own opinions on Steven. Steven to them is that dad who was in a really bad mental state, left , came back and is trying to pick up the pieces. They appreciate the effort but it's very awkward
I have more I wanna say but I wanna make art to explain my thought process
a drawing from 2020 that I completed while contemplating the relationships and flower symbolism in Steven Universe.
Image Description: At the top of the drawing, Pink Diamond clutches a bunch of pink hibiscus flowers. She looks distraught with her eyes closed. She’s colored in dark pinks and purples. The flowers she holds are light pink, and there are blue forget-me-nots and also butterflies. Petals and butterflies seem to fall from the bouquet Pink Diamond holds. Beneath Pink’s arms, Spinel and Pearl are seen, in their first forms, looking with troubled expressions into space. Pearl is illuminated in yellow light and holds the hibiscus that Pink gifted her in her hair. Spinel is in purple shadow, with the orange alien butterfly from the garden perched in her hair. Petals are reflected in both Pearl’s and Spinel’s eyes. The heads of flowers, butterflies, and petals are falling around them. Beneath them, to the left, is fully grown Cactus Steven. His back is turned, with just a portion of one of his faces showing. He is frowning. He is in blue shadow, but covered in cactus blossoms that seem illuminated in pink and yellow shades. On the bottom right side of the drawing are butterflies in orange and yellow light among the pink flower petals. At the bottom center of the drawing is Steven, appearing as he did at the end of “Prickly Pear”, holding the cactus blossom given to him by Cactus Steven. He is looking sadly thoughtful at the blossom. He is illuminated in yellow light.
