I find it so funny that the Tachonises continue to be WILDLY incompetent with their evil plans. They put all their eggs in the one basket of 'Turn Occtis Into an Angelic Warrior Slave and Make Him Obliterate Our Enemies', and when that didn't work, they had to improvise. And they're doing it SO badly.
The ritual didn't work, Occtis got resurrected, and Aranessa and Julien got away. And with the Royce Gala coming up the very next day, they had to scramble to clean up the crime scene and present plausible evidence for the Royce/Davinos disappearing because they went back to Faerie. Leave behind a key component and piece of evidence about the ritual (the candle) where the Schemers could easily find it and use it to expose your plans.
Meanwhile, Aranessa and the Seekers are at Castle Klippenblicke, thoroughly exposing the crimes of House Tachonis to a rival Sundered House. Petra and Ryah visit the Einfasens, presumably to either give another cover story or eliminate the Seekers and any Einfasens who saw them. Fail to catch the Seekers. Also royally piss off the local druid circle by mounting an attack on one of their own in range of their sacred grove.
Then the illusionist they hired to help cover up the massacre at the Palazzo Davinos, who they presumably were planning to just kill and be done with, escapes. Demodus Blix manages to evade them so effectively that they have to frame him for stealing heirlooms from their house to get the Arcane Marshals to help look for him. Because, damn, who would've thought that the best illusionist in the city would be good at HIDING????
They may be incredibly powerful, scary sorcerers, but in every other possible way, they're fumbling the ball SO HARD. No wonder they keep getting all their plans foiled by these ragtag groups of level 3 adventurers. 😂
