Disclaimer: this is not a positive post.
Be forewarned this is not my usual chipper, positive post. I had a rough day yesterday. And because I want this blog to be real, I want to talk about the bad as well as the good.
I’ve been feeling really good lately and taking short walks down the street and back. Two days ago I ran a couple errands with my husband. It was my first time out of the house that wasn’t a doctor appointment, and I was very excited.
But I think I pushed myself too far. Between the walking and sitting in the car, my Barbie butt was not having it. It’s not fully healed yet and yesterday it reminded me. Painfully. I’ve been trying to ween myself off the pain meds because they make my brain fuzzy, but yesterday I needed an extra dose. And it felt like such a setback.
I miss writing. I miss driving. I miss seeing my coworkers. I miss brainstorming with my team. I miss the ability to just get up and go. I miss having a drink with my sister. I miss my normal. I know I’ll have all of that again, but I miss it now.
I’m feeling better today, and I’m not writing this to induce sympathy. It’s more of a vent. Because we all have bad days where we just need to curl up and cry and shout into the void.
So if you read this far, thanks for listening to me shout. 🫶🏻💕
