#ups and downs

I know I’d be looking at anyone else with kind yet consoling horror, “Yeah, it’s totally normal to be stressed when you just had another medical procedure, busted your ass for through your looming to do lists to get out of town. Then after two magical days, to face dive into a single morning of 1.) you couldn’t fix your broken down truck by yourself, between 2.) meeting your taxman and 3.) having an hour long teleconference with your financial advisor. It’s NORMAL. Not a catastrophic failure in chipper efficiency and life in general.”

On the plus side:

CPA said I was his most organized client and didn’t mention that I’m crazy out loud.

My good friend offered to pick me up for coffee Wednesday due to my toxic attachment to my truck.

Even if I have a toxic, “I can fix him” relationship with my 23 year old truck, it’s the longest relationship I’ve had. There’s still love, and I’ve rebuilt so many pieces of it with my own hands. Pretty grateful, but still petty enough to drive him by the junkyard as soon as I get him fixed.

I did feel capable when my beloved mechanic laughed when I dejectedly announced I would be showing up tomorrow with the truck and said, “Oh, you’re gonna let me have a crack at it?”

I managed to mix coolant for aforementioned truck without crossing the line into “hate mixing coolant.
