“No. I will not be ridiculed by you. I know who you are. You’re Jareth, yes, but your face is not. I am so utterly attracted to you because you have David Bowie’s face. And he….he’s dead. And I am not nineteen. I must be in my forties. I can’t be sitting around thinking about shagging a dead celebrity until the day I die, let alone while the entire world is watching me.

I went to the box that Erik had gifted me and took the Valkyrie helmet out of it, placing it on top of my head. I stood staring down the one eyed man across the room from me. I felt like myself, more that I ever had been. The feathers invoked a flight to the future, a bringer of a new age. I felt I could bring down heaven and bring change to humanity.
There is another song that starts playing on the speakers. It isn’t one I recognize at first. It starts with crashing waves and a slow piano. Then a metronome starts. I feel hypnotized by it— my eye begin to grow heavy. This must be the German band, NEU! I recognize the song as Leb' Wohl.
