“Don’t look at me like that, Faith. I’m fine - I’ll be fine. I just need to tend to my wounds and get cleaned up.”

Angel and Spike are both gone. The Scooby gang is still around but she doesn’t want to worry her friends over it all. But, Sookie, she seems to see right through the strong front Buffy puts up. She’s clever and perceptive, Buffy will give her that. “Sounds like you speak from experience.” Ah yes, deflecting. Good job, Buffy.

“As much as I would love to see that slimeball with a broken nose, he’s not worth it.” However, if he keeps up with his disgusting comments, Buffy may very well punch him in the face herself. She’s not one to take any shit, certainly not from a man. “C’mon, let’s just go somewhere else. You hungry? I could use some food right about now.”

“Alright, fine, but only because you asked so nicely.” Buffy teases before she’s dropping down on the bed to crawl closer to Faith and lean in for a kiss, easily closing the distance to connect their lips together.

“.....I don’t know.” It’s the honest truth - she really doesn’t know. It’s not a no and it’s not a yes. “I guess a part of me will always resent him for what he did to me but forgiveness? Maybe he can earn that.” 

“I never stopped loving you, Angel.” She doesn’t think she ever will, no matter what happens. There will always be a part of her heart and her soul that belongs to him, that’ll never change. “I never will.” Maybe she is crazy for it but her entire life is crazy anyway. “I don’t care what people think. They can call me crazy all they want - I’ll never stop loving you.”

“Well, with the way things sound, doesn’t sound like it’d be a bad idea to have a Slayer on speed dial.” Not that Buffy fully believes in the alien thing yet but hey, if there are vampires and demons - why the hell not? “What’s a girl gotta do to get on speed-dail anyway?”

“I don’t think I can go back to sleep.” Being a Slayer isn’t easy. Sometimes she sees things that are horrible. They leave lasting impressions and not the good kind. No, they leave the kind that leaves her suffering from nightmares. “Tea sounds great, thank you.”
