Canid vs canid oh my! I think after enough polls they don't need introductions anymore, but still, we've got Anubis, Egyptian god of funerary rites, protector of graves, and guide to the Underworld, who I've been informed takes the form of either a man or a full jackal (as seen above) and the jackal-headed imagery we often see is meant to be more symbolic, and not a literal form he takes. The more you know!
And of course, we've got Xenia, who was in the running to be the mascot of Linux before Tux was picked instead. Originally conceived as male by her creator, she was later reimagined by a furry artist by the name of cathodegaytube, and this new interpretation was embraced by the creator! So!
