After a long shift at work one of your colleagues had the idea to go to a bar. You don’t often go to bars with all of them, but today you all finally had time. A lot has changed for you since you started working as a police officer at the Mid-Wilshire Station. You found a lot of friends there and you love your job.
“I’m gonna get a drink, would any of you like one too?” You asked the others.
“Could you get me another one of these.” Lucy said, pointing at her drink and you nodded.
“What about you Tim?”
“I’m good, thanks.” He said, smiling at you. When the others said they didn’t need anything, you made your way over to the bar. While you were waiting in line for drinks, a cute guy stood next to you and waited as well. Somehow he looked familiar to you, but you weren’t sure where you had seen him before. He smiled at you and then you suddenly remembered him. You could never forget that smile.
“You’re firefighter Buckley, right?” You asked and he chuckled.
“Yeah, that’s me. Wait and you are officer L/n.”
“You can call me y/n.” You said with a smile.
“Only if you call me Buck because that’s what everyone calls me.”
“Okay, deal.” You said and he had that sweet smile again. You talked for a few more minutes until your drinks were ready.
“See you around, Buck.”
“See you and be safe.” He said and watched as you walked back to your table. You handed Lucy her drink and sat down next to Tim again.
“Who was this guy?” Tim asked curious.
“Oh, just a friend.” You answered and Tim nodded. You and Tim have been friends and partners for a long time and over time he has become very protective over you. He always knows when something is wrong and is there for you as best as he can.
The next day you kept thinking about your meeting with Buck. He was so sweet and you hope to see him again. You didn’t think you’d see him again soon because just when you had an emergency call and had to call the ambulance, it was the 118 that showed up. You couldn’t really talk to him, but it was great to see each other again.
When you were grocery shopping and walking through the halls someone said your name and when you turned around you saw that it was Buck.
“Hey Buck.” You greeted him with a smile.
“Hey, good to see you.”
“I was wondering if you would like to have a coffee with me sometime?” He suddenly asked.
“Yeah, sure. How about I give you my phone number.” He nodded and pulled out his phone. You tipped in your number and he called you, so you had his number too.
Two days passed until you got a message from Buck. He asked if you were free tomorrow and you agreed to meet after work. At work Tim noticed that you were different, happier and more excited. He didn’t ask you about it, but it made him happy to see you happy.
The coffee date with Buck went very well. You talked about everything that came to your mind. You both really enjoyed it and had a great time. He asked you out on a date and that date turned into another date and suddenly you were in a happy relationship.
You had been dating for about three months now. Usually you were at his house or yours or sometimes you were going out. Favorite things to do together include cooking, watching movies, going to the beach and you enjoying it when he tells you a story from work and then you tell him some stories too. You’re very happy together and try to spend as much time together as possible, even if it can be a bit difficult due to your work shifts. Some people don’t think a relationship between a police officer and a firefighter is a good idea, so you decided to keep the relationship a secret for a while, which wasn’t always easy especially if you would see him on a call.
Today you have been called into a very difficult situation. You called for backup, but things quickly escalated, and you injured your left arm. Luckily, Officer Harper, Officer Nolan and Officer Bradford arrived at the right time to arrest the person. While Harper and Nolan arrested the person, Tim ran over to you and called an ambulance.
“Tim, I’m aright, it’s just a small scratch.”
“Let’s wait and see what the medics say, okay?” Tim said and put some pressure on the wound to stop the bleeding. A few minutes later you could already hear the ambulance driving near you. When the doors opened you could see that it was Buck. As soon as he saw you, he ran towards you.
“Babe, are you okay? What happened?” He asked, looking at your arm. When you looked over, you saw that Tim had a confused look on his face.
“I’m okay, it’s just a small scratch.” You said again.
“Let’s go to the truck and I’ll take a look at it.” Buck said, placed his hand on your back and guided you to the truck. Then he removed the cloth from your wound and gently tried to stop the bleeding. You took a deep breath.
“I’m sorry, babe.” He looked into your eyes and tried to smile at you. Then he looked back at the wound.
“The cut isn’t too deep, so it’s okay if I just bandage it.” He said and you nodded. Buck gently put the bandage over your wound and then gave you a kiss on the cheek.
“Thank you, honey.”
“Anytime.” He said, then Buck tucked a piece of hair behind your ear and gently pulled you into a passionate kiss. When you broke the kiss, you reached for his hand and smiled at each other.
“I have to go back to work.” You said after a few seconds, even though you didn’t want to say goodbye.
“Me too.” He said, looking over his shoulder to see his friends looking at you both with smiles.
“I guess they all know now.”
“They definitely do.” You said with chuckle. You noticed how happy they all were and then looked over at Tim who was as happy as they were.
“I think I have to go now. See you later.” Buck said and gave you a quick hug.
“See you.” You said, waving at him as you walked away. As you walked to your car, Tim was still standing next to yours and looked at you with a grin.
“Now I know why you’ve been so happy lately.”
“Yeah, Buck makes me really happy.” You confirmed and opened the car door.
You were glad that Tim and Buck’s colleagues now found out about your relationship, but you definitely want to meet them soon on a better occasion. Buck has told you a lot about them, so you’re very excited to meet them.

After you and Buck dated for two years, you became pregnant and now have your beautiful and cute daughter Emma. During your pregnancy Buck was always there for you and protected you even more. He always made sure you were comfortable and not overworked. When Emma was born she began to be the light of your life. Buck loves holding her, cuddling with her and talking to her. She makes you both so happy and you always love to see when she learns something new.
That was one of the reasons why Buck was so sad when he had to go back to work. He was sad that he couldn’t spend as much time with you and Emma anymore and could miss when she does something new. You promised to send him some pictures while he is at work and tell him everything he missed. And when Buck comes back from work, the first thing he does is to kiss and cuddle his little princess. When she started to talk, and her first word was “daddy” Buck was so excited and told everyone. She started saying some random words and making you both laugh which made her laugh too.
Today was one of those days where Buck had a 24 hour shift. He’s been at work since yesterday and is coming back today at the evening. You missed him a lot when he was at work for so long and he missed you, but the good thing is that it means that he has the next two days off and will be at home with you.
The day started as normal as always. Emma woke you up early in the morning, later you had breakfast, then you both went for a walk and Emma took a nap. But then when Emma woke up and you gave her a kiss, she suddenly said something she had never said before.
“love mommy.”
“I love you too honey.” You said excited but then got sad that Buck wasn’t there to hear it.
“Do you want to go to daddy?” You asked and she began to giggle.
“Daddy.”
“Yeah, let’s go see daddy.” You said with a smile and picked her up. You quickly took your bag with everything that you could need and made your way to the car. While driving to the station Emma didn’t stop to say “daddy” because she was so excited.
As you walked into the station your daughter began to giggle because she likes being there and seeing the others. When you walked upstairs and she saw Buck, she immediately said “daddy.” Buck saw you two, began to smile and run over to you.
“Hey my little princess.” He said and gave her a kiss on the cheek.
“Hey, babe.” Buck greeted you and kissed you. Emma made grabby hands and Buck took her with a smile and hugged her.
“Is this my favorite niece.” Chim said as he walked closer, making Emma giggle. The others greeted you as well.
“Wait, is everything okay?” Buck suddenly asked.
“Yeah, we just missed you and Emma wanted to tell you something.” You said with a grin and Buck smiled at you.
“Oh, is that so?” He asked with a smile, but Emma just laid her head on Bucks shoulder. You chuckled and then said.
“Maybe she says it again.” Buck nodded.
“Are you hungry? We were just about to eat.” Bobby asked and you nodded. You all sat down at the table. You sat next to Buck who was holding his daughter in his arms. After eating you talked a while with Eddie and the others.
“Love daddy.” Emma suddenly said and everyone began to smile.
“Aww, I love you too my little princess.” Buck said with a big smile and hugged her.
“I love you so much.” He said again and was so excited.
“Love daddy.” He gave her a few kisses and looked so happy.
“What about me Emma?” Chim asked but she didn’t say anything, and everyone started to laugh.
“Don’t worry, the day will come and she will say it to you too.” Hen said and you chuckled.
You stayed at the station for a while until they were called to an emergency and had to leave. Buck was so happy that you surprised him and can’t wait to come home later and spend more time with you two.

Today would be your first day as a firefighter recruit at the Fire Station 118. You were so excited when you were told which station would be yours and couldn’t wait to meet your new colleagues. In the last few days you have become more and more nervous. Being a firefighter has always been a dream of yours and now joining a station is so exciting. You have heard that firefighters are like a family and hope you get along with the others there and you maybe build a good friendship.
As soon as you walked into the fire station and were greeted by a very friendly Captain, you knew you were going to like it there. Captain Nash went upstairs with you where your other colleagues were. Some sat at the table while someone else cooked something. When you walked into the room, some of them were already looking over at you and Bobby.
“Guys, listen, I already told you that a recruit is gonna join us today. And here she is.” Bobby announced with a smile. The others came closer and started to introduce themselves.
“I’m Hen. It’s great to finally have another woman here.” She said and you had to chuckle. The next ones to introduce themselves were Chim and Ravi.
“I’m Evan Buckley, but everyone calls me Buck.” He said with a smile.
“Hey, I’m Eddie and welcome to the 118.” Eddie greeted you and you smiled back at him. You all talked for a few minutes about the station and some random things. You quickly realized that they were all really good friends.
“Eddie will show you around and then we’ll have dinner later.” Bobby said and Eddie nodded.
“Come, let’s start downstairs.” You followed him downstairs, and Eddie showed you everything, from the firetrucks, where they have everything they need and the locker room. Eddie talked a lot, and you asked him a few questions too. He was really friendly and nice to you.
“If you ever need anything, you can always come to me. And there’s really no need to be nervous, everyone here is really great and I think you’ll like it here.” Eddie told you.
“Thank you.” You said with a smile and Eddie smiled back at you. After he showed you around, you had dinner. Shortly after you all finished dinner, you had your first call. You mostly stayed by Eddie’s side, trying to help as best as you could.
It’s been two weeks since your first day at the 118. They have all become good friends of yours, especially Eddie. You were mostly paired on calls with him and sometimes Buck was also included. Sometimes you also spend some time together after work or text each other.
On this day you were called to a major emergency. Captain Nash ordered that Buck, Eddie, Ravi and you would go into the burning building while Chim and Hen dealt with the people outside. Then everything happened so fast. When the fire was almost gone, you saved a young man and Buck helped you bring him out of there. Hen took care of him, but then he suddenly collapsed….and then you heard Hen say the time of his death. Buck put his hand on your back but you couldn’t look at him now, you just looked at the ground. Then he quickly pulled you into a comforting hug. You tried not to cry and looked out for Eddie as you pulled away. You saw him standing next to Bobby and giving you a small smile.
Later when you got back to the station, you walked straight to the bathroom. You needed to be alone for a minute. When you came out, Eddie was already waiting for you.
“Are you okay?” He asked worried and you just nodded, but he could tell it wasn’t true. Your shift was over and you all left the station. You could tell the others were worried and Buck nodded at Eddie. Eddie then turned to you and walked closer to you.
“Do you want to come with me to my house? Buck picks Christopher up from school and takes him to the zoo…so it would be just us.” He asked.
“Yeah, I would like that.” Eddie smiled at you and you walked with him to his car. You were really calm on the drive to his house. When you walked into his house, you both sat down on the couch and after a few minutes you suddenly started to crying. He pulled you into a hug and started rubbing your back.
“It’s okay. Everything will be okay …. I’m here.” He whispered a few times. He held you close and with every word he said you began to calm down a bit. After a while you stopped crying and pulled away.
“I’m just thinking what if I had found him sooner or-“You wanted to continue but were interrupted by Eddie.
“No, don’t do that Carino. It wasn’t your fault.” Eddie said in a soft tone. This was the first time he had decided to call you that and you wondered what it means.
“It’s just so hard to believe that, Eddie.”
“I know and it’s completely normal that you feel that way.” He reached for your hand and then started telling you how he feels sometimes and somehow you had the feeling that he was right and everything will be okay.
Summary: When you go for a walk you find a puppy and decide to take it home with you but what will your boyfriend Eddie say?

It was your and Eddie’s day off and you decided to go for a walk while he dropped Chris off at school. You walked your typical route, past the playground and through the park. When you were walking through the park, you suddenly saw a little puppy lying under a bench. You walked closer to the puppy and reached for it.
“Hey, buddy.” You said and the puppy moved closer to you. You noticed that the puppy didn’t have a collar…maybe he or she doesn’t have an owner? After thinking about it for a few minutes, you decided to pick the puppy up and take it home with you.
When you got home, you went into the kitchen where Eddie was already preparing breakfast. Eddie began to smile when he saw you, but when he saw the dog he was confused.
“Mi amor, who’s puppy is this?” He asked as he came closer to you and then gave you a kiss on the cheek.
“I found this puppy all alone under a bench in the park.” You said in a sad tone.
“Oh no, you poor baby.” Eddie said and started petting it.
“We should take the puppy to a vet and then to a shelter.”
“And what if we would keep the puppy?” You asked.
“I don’t know mi amor. We both work long shifts, and it’s not easy taking care of a puppy.”
“I know…Let’s go to the vet first.” You said and Eddie nodded. Eddie drove the car while you held the puppy in your hands. You pet the puppy with a smile, but that smile began to fade as you thought about bringing this cute puppy to a shelter.
Once you arrived at the vet, you didn’t have to wait long until the doctor had time. She checked over the puppy and told you that she is perfectly fine. But as you already guessed, the vet confirmed that she probably doesn’t have an owner.
“Do we really have to give her away?” You asked as you sat back in the car. Eddie looked at you with a smile and then said, “Okay, how about she stays with us until we find an owner for her?” He said and you began to smile.
“That’s a good idea babe, thank you.” You said with a smile and Eddie smiled back at you and petted her.
“I’m curious to see what Chris will say.” You spoke.
“Oh, he will definitely be so excited and happy. You know that he loves dogs.” He said and you nodded with a smile. On the drive home you quickly stopped at a store and Eddie walked in to buy some food for the little dog.
After a while when you got home, Eddie gave the dog something to eat and then you both ate something as well. Suddenly she started to run around the living room. You got up and ran after her and Eddie began to laugh. Eddie walked near the puppy and picked her up, smiling.
“You’re a fast runner.” Eddie said to the puppy, and you chuckled. Then you sat down on the couch for a while with the puppy on your lap. You laid your head on Eddie’s shoulder, and he kissed your forehead.
After a while it was time to pick Chris up from school. You decided to drive all three together. You sat in the back so Chris could be with the puppy later.
After a short drive you reached the school. When Eddie walked away, he waved at you and then went to find Chris. A few minutes later he came back with Chris. As you both expected, Chris was so excited when he saw the puppy in your arms.
“Hello there, my new friend.” He said as he reached for her with a big smile.
“We need to buy some toys.” Chris said excited.
“You heard that, Eddie?”
“To a pet store it is.” He said and Chris started to laugh. While driving Eddie would sometimes look back at you and start to smile when he saw Chris with his new friend and you. Eddie is so happy with you and Chris and maybe keeping this puppy isn’t such a bad idea. Seeing how happy she makes Chris and you, makes him happy too.
Summary: Buck is there for you when you can't sleep.

It was in the middle of the night and you couldn’t sleep again. When you looked to your left, you saw Buck sleeping peacefully. Even though he told you that you can always wake him up when you can’t sleep or when something is wrong, you decided not to. He had just gotten home from a long shift at the fire station, and you wanted to let him sleep because he was very exhausted and deserved some rest.
After a few more minutes you decided to grab the book from your bedside table and head downstairs to the living room. You tried to walk down the stairs as quietly as possible so you wouldn’t wake him up. Then you sat down on the couch, turned on the light and started reading.
While you where downstairs, Buck woke up and when he couldn’t feel you cuddling with him, he looked at your side of the bed and was confused when he didn’t see you there. Buck started to worry and then decided to look where you were. As he walked to the stairs, he already saw light coming from the living room.
When you heard footsteps, you turned around and to see a tired Buck walking towards you.
“Babe, you okay?” Buck asked and you nodded. Then he sat down next to you and reached for your hand.
“I just can’t sleep again.”
“You know you could have woken me up, right?” He said as he softly rubbed the back of your hand.
“Buck, I…I know…but you just got back from a long shift so I wanted to let you sleep.”
“Looks like I can’t sleep without you next to me.” Buck said and smiled at you. You returned that smile and moved closer to him. He wrapped his arms around you and pressed a kiss to your forehead. You stayed like that for a few minutes until Buck broke the silence.
“How about we go to bed and cuddle?”
“Sounds good.” You answered and smiled at him. You went back into the bedroom and snuggled up to Buck. You laid your head on his chest, so you could hear his heartbeat, which always calms you down and helps you feel better. Buck put his hand on your back and held you tight, then he kissed your forehead gently.
“Would you like to hear a story from work?” he asked excited. Buck loves telling you some stories from work and you enjoy listening to him talk. He's always so excited and you’re curious what story it's going to be. Maybe you already knew it, but you didn’t care.
“I would love to.” You said with a smile.
“Okay, so you know we don’t use the Q-word.” He started and you had to held back a chuckle.
“Ravi was new at the station when he accidentally said it and as you can imagine, we were all cursed then.” He said and began to tell you the story of that exhausting and cursed shift. The story was so interesting and funny, but after a while you started to drift off and fell asleep in your boyfriend's loving embrace.
