His birthday was quickly approaching and Seokjin didn't think he’d ever been so happy in his life.

After The Big Reveal (as he liked to call it) Seokjin and Jungkook had sat down with the rest of their friends and explained everything. Though he knew deep down that his friends were some of the kindest, most understanding people he’s ever known, he was still quite surprised by how easily they accepted him after telling them that he was a Little. Jimin had a bit of knowledge about Littles previously, and though Taehyung had thought it to be something inherently sexual, he actually understood the concept quite quickly. Yoongi, Hoseok, and Namjoon didn’t know anything at all about Littles, but their confused expressions were eased soon after Jin answered some of their questions.

Not only did they all accept Seokjin’s little side, they actually were quite excited to be involved with Little Jinnie. He hadn’t slipped into littlespace since The Big Reveal, so they hadn’t fully experienced Little Jinnie yet, but they were willing and happy to. Honestly, as he got older, his Little side came out less and less, so he probably wouldn’t even slip for another month or so.

Seokjin had been shocked when only a day after the reveal, Yoongi asked him about Little Jin’s favorite movies. He explained shyly that he hadn’t explored many movies while in littlespace, but he had found that he enjoyed Mulan when he’d watched it when it was playing on television one day when he’d slipped.

The others approached him quite a bit with genuine questions about his littlespace and every time they did, Seokjin felt like tearing up. He’d never thought even in his wildest dreams that all of them would so readily and enthusiastically accept him and he was just so happy he felt like he could burst sometimes. He felt like a huge weight had been lifted off of his shoulders.

They’d only been out with Seokjin for an hour before Taehyung realized just how much he was third-wheeling.

Jungkook had suggested a place to sled to start the day out. Since their options were limited thanks to the pandemic, he’d had to work hard to plan the day.

Jungkook and Seokjin were currently sharing a sled (despite there being one for each of them) and giggling and laughing cheerily as they slid down the hill together. A few times the two of them had fallen off and tumbled around in the snow, their bodies tangling into a perfect mess of limbs. They would look into each other’s eyes and then blush when they realized their positions, quickly getting up again.

Taehyung was left to sled on his own and didn’t mind when he realized that his two friends were so caught up in each other they’d pretty much forgotten about his existence. On the contrary, he was happy that they were spending time together. He just hoped that the two of them would get their act together soon and confess their true feelings for one another. It seemed as if everyone could see the heart eyes they gave each other except them. It truly was like watching a romance movie play out and Taehyung had a first hand viewing. How cliche.

After two hours of sledding, the trio headed to an open diner just a few blocks away from the sledding hill. When Seokjin sat on one side of the booth, Taehyung quickly pushed Jungkook in alongside him, claiming the other side all for himself. He ignored the glare Jungkook gave him and simply shot him an innocent smile back.

“What are you guys going to get?” Seokjin asked as his eyes immediately went over the menu.

Jungkook bit his lip, “I’m not sure. I can’t decide between the cheese burger and the jajangmyeon. I’m craving both.”

Seokjin nodded, “Me too. Why don’t we order both and share?”

Jungkook couldn’t help the blush that crept up his cheeks. “Yeah, that sounds good,” he replied with a big smile.

If Taehyung was anyone else, he’d probably be rolling his eyes at their cheesiness, but he truly just thought it was cute.

Taehyung ended up on his phone when the two love birds ended up in a conversation together.

After lunch, Taehyung, Jungkook, and Seokjin spent a bit of time doing some Christmas shopping. They all bought a few gifts for their parents and siblings.

It was perfect timing when Taehyung got the text that the apartment was ready. They only had a couple more stops before they were planning to head home.

Anticipation grew between Jungkook and Taehyung as they walked up the stairs to their apartment. The two of them had insisted on carrying all the bags so Seokjin could open the door for them, and though it had gotten them a raised eyebrow, the older shrugged it off and allowed them to do whatever they wanted.

So Seokjin twisted the door handle to their apartment and he’d barely shut it behind them all when their four other friends jumped out from the living room and kitchen and shouted, “SURPRISE!”

Taehyung and Jungkook giggled as Seokjin jumped a little, startled, and then an understanding smile came over his face.

“You guys didn’t,” Seokjin said.

Namjoon grinned back at him, “Oh, but we did.”

“Happy Birthday, hyung!” Jimin yelled, running forward to place a pink party hat on Seokjin’s head and then hug him.

“We know that your birthday is actually tomorrow,” Hobi explained. “But you’re working most of the afternoon and evening so we thought it would be better to celebrate it today!”

Seokjin sighed fondly, “Goodness, you guys are too sweet.”

“It was all Kookie’s idea!” Taehyung interjected, ignoring the wide-eyed look he was getting from Jungkook. “He asked for all of us to help and of course we were happy to! We love you so much, hyung!”

They all started migrating to the living room, where Seokjin took in the Happy Birthday banner and ribbons and balloons all around him. “This is too much, guys.”

“Never, hyung.” Yoongi spoke up for the first time. He smiled his rare gummy smile and gave Seokjin a hug around the waist. “You’re always there when we need you. And you always throw the best parties, so it was only right that we do the same for you.”

This was the first birthday of Seokjin’s that all seven of them were going to be spending together. While Seokjin had known Yoongi since childhood, and Hoseok and Namjoon since high school, he had only been close friends with the youngest three for two years. Though their group of seven had been fully formed by Seokjin’s previous birthday, Namjoon had been unfortunately under high stress with his studies and couldn’t spare the time to sleep, let alone celebrate, and Jungkook had a family emergency back in Busan.

“Thank you,” was all he could say.

“Aw, you’re so welcome, hyung!” Jimin cooed, jumping forward to hug Seokjin around the neck.

The older man didn’t hesitate to cuddle the other back.

“Alright!” Yoongi said excitedly. “Hoseok and I slaved over the naengmyun all day, so you’d all better be ready to eat it.”

His exclamation was answered with enthusiastic shouts and cheers.

When they finished the delicious food, they decided to move onto gifts.

Seokjin was already protesting as they led him to the living room, “You really didn’t need to do gifts on top of all of this! I’m really not that happy to be turning twenty-five.”

“Well, we did, hyung,” Namjoon replied, pushing the older man in the direction of the couch. “So too bad for you, you have to enjoy it.”

They all had anxious but excited expressions on their faces as they found seats around the room. Each of them seemed to have manifested gift bags of varying sizes in their arms.

Jungkook sat down right next to Seokjin and gave him a hopeful smile. “We, um, we got some things for both Little Jinnie and you, so which one would you like first?”

Seokjin was ready to protest to so many presents, but the glares from across the room had him holding back what he was going to say. “Uh, Me first, Little Jinnie after.”

“Okay,” Jungkook replied.

It was Taehyung who came over with, not a gift bag, but an envelope in his hands. He held it out to Seokjin who took it reluctantly. “This is a collective gift from all of us,” he explained. “Jin-hyung, we know how hard you’re working to get your bakery up and running, and we really wanted to help you with that.”

Seokjin opened the envelope and pulled out what he thought was a letter, only to find that it was a list of recommendations the boys had compiled. Information about a few high rated realtors that could help him find a good location for his business (courtesy of Namjoon, Yoongi and Hoseok), the names of some talented interior designers (Taehyung, Jimin, and Jungkook), and and six coupons for free help getting the place ready when the time came (only usable on his friends).

“Oh guys, thank you so much,” Seokjin crooned. “I’ll definitely be using these coupons.”

“You’re welcome, hyung!” Hoseok beamed.

“Don’t lose them or we won’t help!” Yoongi snarked with a smirk.

“There’s more, hyung,” Jungkook told him, hands rubbing over his jeans anxiously.

More?

Seokjin then looked to realize he had missed a slip of paper. As he pulled it out, his eyes widened at the sight of a check, those eyes becoming even wider at the number presented on it.

“Your baking is the best I’ve ever had, Seokjin-hyung,” Namjoon said. “We all know that you’ll draw in a lot of people and make them happy. So, we wanted to help.”

The oldest one in the room was shocked, “I-I can’t accept this, you guys.”

Jimin spoke up next, “You don’t have a choice, we won’t take it back!”

“A-Are you...are you sure?”

A chorus of six voices replied, “Yes!”

Seokjin still felt hesitant. It was a lot of money and he felt bad about accepting such a substantial amount.

“It’s not for free, though, hyung!” Jungkook announced, having noticed the older man’s reluctance. He grinned when Jin looked at him. “We want free food whenever we stop in!”

Everyone let out a laugh, Seokjin included. “Alright, fine. Thank you all, though. It really means a lot to me.”

“No problem, hyung!”

“You’re welcome!”

“Just make sure to keep a healthy stock of those caramel brownies I love.”

In the midst of all the chuckles and quips, Seokjin felt his brain falling into that familiar headspace, his elation taking away any lingering of nerves he might have had about slipping into littlespace in front of the others for the first time.

No one noticed at first, as they continued to talk about their favourite dessert of Jin’s and debated which one would be more popular. It wasn’t much of a surprise that it was Jungkook who took notice of the wide, slightly glassy eyes of his hyung.

His eyebrows lifted in realization and he asked softly, “Jinnie? Are you little right now?”

The others immediately stopped talking and turned their heads towards Seokjin, who grabbed the nearest blanket to fiddle with and nodded his head shyly.

Hoseok clapped his hands together excitedly, quickly quieting down when he realized it might startle Seokjin. Yoongi and Namjoon smiled encouragingly.

Jimin cooed, “Oh, what perfect timing! Well, it’s nice to officially meet our Little Jinnie!”

“H-Hello,” Jinnie replied softly.

Jungkook scooted closer to him and smiled, “Would you like to open the presents we got for you, Jinnie?”

Jinnie’s eyes widened and he tried to hide how excited he was at the idea. “Um, yes.”

“Yes, what?” Jungkook asked almost automatically.

Seokjin blinked, “Yes, please.”

Jungkook ruffled his hair, “Good boy.”

The first present was placed on his lap, courtesy of none other than Taehyung. It was a simple gift bag. Seokjin wasted no time in tearing through the tissue paper obscuring what was inside. His eyes widened and he reached in to pull out the cutest dog onesie he’d ever seen. Following that one, there was also a dinosaur onesie and a flying squirrel.

“Thank you so much, Taehyungie!” Little Jinnie exclaimed, holding the soft material to his chest. “They are the cutest-est!”

Taehyung smiled and ruffled Jin’s hair. “You’re welcome, Jinnie.”

“Okay, move out of the way, it’s my turn now!” Jimin announced, nearly body slamming Taehyung out of the way. He grinned at the Little, “I hope you like it!”

Jin squealed excitedly as he ripped the wrapping paper and revealed a giant Lego set and a Disney themed jigsaw puzzle with so many famous characters on it. “T-There’s Mickey Mouse! A-And Jasmine! And Pinocchio!” He looked back up at Jimin, “It’s awesome!”

The gift opening continued with Namjoon giving him some Dr. Suess books, Hoseok giving him colouring books and a set of (washable) markers. Then, Yoongi gave him a set of three Disney movies - Mulan, Aladdin and Tangled.

The final gift came from Jungkook, who handed him the biggest gift bag Seokjin had ever seen in his life. Inside, he found two dozen or so plushies.

Jin felt so overwhelmed at all his gifts that when he looked back up at his friends, he had tears in his eyes. He’d never let himself think about the possibility of them ever accepting this other side of him, and now that they had, he was elated.

“T-Thank you,” he said, voice timid but sincere. “Jinnie loves his presents! Jungkookie and Jiminie and Taehyungie and Hoseokie and Yoonie and Namjoonie are the best-est ever!”

The Little all but threw himself off of the couch, launching himself into Jungkook’s arms. The other caught him easily with a fond chuckle.

“Can we watch one of the movies?” Jin asked suddenly, pulling back so he could look at Jungkook properly.

And really, it’s not like Jungkook, or any of them, could say no to that adorable face.

The rest of the night consisted of loudly singing along to all the songs in Aladdin by all of them, and Seokjin curling up in his new Dinosaur onesie with Jungkook in the corner of one of the couches. When the cake was brought out and devoured, Jungkook took the time to wipe the icing and crumbs that accumulated around Jin’s mouth with a napkin.

As the second movie of the night came to an end and everyone else was passed out around the room, Jungkook turned to Seokjin with the most loving look in his eyes. “Whether you’re our Jin-hyung, or our Little Jinnie, we love you. I love you.”

Seokjin was frozen in place, simply unable to move from all the fear running through his body.

Six pairs of eyes looked back at him with a mixture of surprise and confusion - the eyes of his best friends.

The pacifier that had been in Jin’s mouth fell out and hit the floor, and that seemed to wake him up from his frozen state. Seokjin let out a scared whimper and scrambled to his feet and down the hallway to his room. He shut the door and locked it with shaky fingers before falling into a heap of tears on the floor.

They weren’t supposed to find out he was a little. He’d spent years hiding it from them, only to have it exposed when they all came back to their shared apartment two hours earlier than they’d said. Jin had just been watching his favorite Disney movie and coloring in his almost finished coloring book when they walked in the front door, take out in their hands.

After Seokjin fled the room, it fell into a confused silence.

The six friends had all found that they got off of work and school earlier than expected and thought it would be a good idea to surprise their eldest hyung, who had the day off, with a pre-birthday party party as his true birthday was only a couple of days away.

They definitely hadn’t expected to find Seokjin in a situation none of them had imagined, so of course, they were a little surprised when they walked into the apartment and found him dressed in a purple unicorn onesie with a matching sparkly pacifier in his mouth.

“I-I don’t...” Namjoon tried to speak up. “I don’t know what just happened?”

“He’s a Little, I guess?” Jimin commented, unsure.

Hoseok and Yoongi turned to him and asked, “A what?”

“A Little,” Jungkook answered. “Little space is a headspace that can be a form of relaxation for some people.”

“I think I’ve heard about that before...” Taehyung began, a furrow to his brow. “I was under the impression that it was a, uh, sexual thing, though.”

Jungkook nodded as he understood the stereotype, but quickly corrected his hyung. “It can be sexual, but not necessarily.”

“Oh,” Taehyung murmured, looking thoughtful.

Jimin spoke up then, “Since you seem to know the most about Littles, Jungkookie, why don’t you go try to talk to Jin-hyung?”

As the others nodded, Jungkook agreed. “I’ll see what I can do.”

After he’d shut the door to his room and locked it, Seokjin dove under his covers and held his smaller blue blanket tightly to his chest. He let himself whimper and cry as his body was overcome with fear.

“Jinnie?”

Seokjin’s head snapped up and he looked towards the bedroom with wonder at the softness of the voice. He didn’t know how long he’d been in there already, but he was surprised that someone was approaching in such a kind manner.

“Jinnie? It’s Kookie. Can you unlock the door for me?”

With that familiar voice - that familiar soft tone - Jin found most of his resolve melt away. He stood up and walked hesitantly towards the bedroom door. With shaky hands and racing heartbeat, he turned the lock and pulled the door open just an inch. He peeked out and saw Jungkook standing there, eyes full of worry but a small smile on his face.

“Do you think we could still talk, Jinnie? Are you still Little?” he asked cautiously.

Jin’s eyes widened and his bottom lip trembled as he held back his tears. “K-Kookie knows Littles?” he stuttered out shyly.

Jungkook’s smile brightened a bit more. “I do,” he replied. “I do know Littles. And I quite like Littles, too.”

“R-Really?”

“Mhm. I had a friend in high school who was a Little. Me and another friend of ours cared for him when he slipped until he got a boyfriend that filled that role.”

“S-So Kookie don’t hate Littles?” Jin clarified.

“I definitely do not hate Littles.”

“And Kookie don’t hate Jinnie.”

“Kim Seokjin,” Jungkook said, a little more serious. “You could never ever make me hate you. You’re one of the best people I have ever met in my life, and this does not change that one bit.”

“B-But, Jinnie ‘posed to be Kookie’s hyung!”

Jungkook stopped him by raising his hand. “It’s okay to need to be taken care of sometimes. But let’s not talk about that right now. How about you let me inside and show me some of your favorite plushies?”

The word was like a trigger and Seokjin’s eyes widened in excitement, opening the door completely and grabbing Jungkook by the arm to drag him into the room. “Jinnie doesn’t have lots, but he has Snuffles the elephant,” he exclaimed, taking out a green elephant plushie from a box under his bed. “And this is Sophia the snake. She likes to cuddle lots. And this is Arnold the bear!” Jin lifted up a brown snake plushie and a purple bear.

“Well, it’s very nice to meet you Snuffles, Sophia, and Arnold.” Jungkook gave a dramatic deep bow to each plushie which caused Jin to giggle.

“Jinnie also has Spots the cat but he’s downstairs,” Jin pouted, remembering that the rest of his friends were also downstairs.

“Why don’t we go get Spots and you can introduce him to the others?” Jungkook suggested.

Seokjin looked down at the floor nervously. “What if they don’t like Jinnie?”

Jungkook sat down next to Jin on the bed and wrapped a comforting arm around him. “The others don’t seem to know that much about Littles, but they’re our friends, Jinnie, and they love you so much. I just know that they’ll be willing to learn.”

Jin looked at him skeptically. “Kookie promises?”

Jungkook grinned and held out his left pinky finger. “Pinky promise.”

Seokjin wrapped his own pinky around the other’s and was surprised when Jungkook leaned down to give their pinkies a kiss.

“To make the promise even more special,” Jungkook said in explanation.

Seokjin allowed Jungkook to grab his hand and lead him out of the room. He was nervous to face his other friends - to see their reactions - but he trusted his Jungkookie and that was enough for now.

It was obvious to anyone and everyone with eyes that Jeon Jungkook admired and respected his Namjoon-hyung. Between the doe eyes staring up at the older like he hung the stars in the sky and the way Jungkook’s bratty behavior immediately stopped whenever Namjoon scolded him, the other members figured it out within about 0.2 seconds of knowing them both.

The thing was...Jungkook never just admired and respected his hyung. He loved him. Jungkook loved Namjoon. He didn’t know that he was in love back when they were trainees and fighting tooth and nail to be able to debut. He was too young back then to understand the pounding of his heart when his hyung was around or the way he felt like he simultaneously couldn’t breathe around Namjoon and could only breathe when he was around. It was love, though, as he grew to understand.

Alas, Namjoon never seemed to quite realize just how much he meant to their beloved maknae. For someone with an IQ of 148, he sure was oblivious when it came to Jungkook’s feelings for him.

One night a few months following their Danger promotions, the maknae line had gathered together for a sleepover. The three laid cuddled together in the bed, lights off for the night, and whispers of hesitant secrets filling the air between them.

“Jungkook,” Jimin looked at him seriously, “You love him, don’t you? Namjoon-hyung?”

And Jungkook turned as red as a tomato, stuttering over his next words. “As a h-hyung? Of course I love him.”

“What about as a lover, Kookie?” Jimin continued, not for a second buying into the younger’s act.

Taehyung, looking adorably confused, turned to Jungkook with questioning eyes. Now the maknae was trapped between his two hyungs’ gazes and bodies, unable to lie.

“Y-Yeah,” he managed out in something of a squeak. “Yeah, I love him.”

That was the first time Jungkook ever admitted it to anyone or even out loud. Seokjin was next to ask him about it, followed by Yoongi and finally Hoseok.

So, literally everyone in the group knew that Jungkook was in love with Namjoon for years and Namjoon himself still didn’t have a single clue, or if he did, he was hiding it extremely well.

Even as they got older, as Jungkook found out about littlespace, as everyone accidentally found out Jungkook was a little, as the leader became Jungkook’s unofficial main caregiver, Namjoon still didn’t realize.

Honestly, Jungkook came to the conclusion that he never would. That Jungkook would have to take his feelings to the grave with him. It wasn’t like he was ever going to confess himself, considering how timid and anxiety-ridden he was.

So, when the leader finally did find out about Jungkook’s feelings, it came as a shock to both of them.

The day was like any other and Jungkook hadn’t the slightest suspicion that his secret was going to be revealed.

He was in the dance studio with Hoseok, Seokjin, and Jimin, goofing off even if they probably should have been practicing. They were playing a game of choosing a random song and having someone freestyle dance to it.

Jimin was the first to go, and when Hoseok put on a super bright girl group song, Jimin didn’t hesitate to go full-on with the choreography and cute actions. He basked in the cheers he received from the others.

Hoseok took the floor next and got into a starting stance. Seokjin grinned smugly in his direction before putting on possibly the saddest song ever. It was a song in English so they didn’t understand all of the lyrics, but they understood enough that it made them laugh when Hoseok began his popping routine anyways. The song and the dance didn’t match in the slightest, which was what made them all lose it, really.

Seokjin took his turn confidently and listened for the beginning notes of whatever song Jungkook was going to play.

The maknae took a moment to think of a good song and grinned once he thought of one.

A heavy bass and EDM beat filled the room, a song that Jungkook knew Hoseok would be amazing at freestyling to.

Seokjin nodded before cracking his knuckles and then breaking into a complicated dance routine filled with all of the most famous, cheesy dance moves in it. He started with a slick Moonwalk, followed by the Chicken Dance, the Carlton, and the Shopping Cart.

The three dancers were on the floor laughing their asses off when Jin confidently hit the Mashed Potato and the Lawnmower before finishing off his performance with the Gangnam Style dance and the Bus Driver.

It took a good few minutes after Jin’s spectacular performance for them to gather themselves back together. Jungkook finally wiped away the tears of laughter from the corners of his eyes and took the stage.

Jimin gave him a smirk before he pressed play on the song he’d chosen.

A deep, obviously sensual song began playing through the dance studio, making the maknae roll his eyes.

Shrugging off his initial hesitance, Jungkook decided to put on a show for his hyungs. He started off with grinding on the floor like they did in their Blood Sweat & Tears dance, followed by numerous hip thrusts and body rolls incorporated into smooth choreography.

Hoseok and Seokjin were hollering and whistling, hyping the maknae up in his performance. Jimin could only think about how ARMYs would die if they had the chance to see this dance, even if it was only a joke.

Jungkook finished his performance, panting and sweating from the workout.

“Dang, JK!” Seokjin exclaimed, bringing a nice, cool water bottle over to the maknae.

As the youngest chugged the drink thankfully, Hoseok waggled his eyebrows suggestively. “Is that the dance you want to perform for Namjoon?”

Jungkook promptly choked on the water.

Jimin snorted, “Do you think Namjoon would finally figure out Jungkook’s feelings for him if he did?”

“W-What?”

The new voice startled the four of them, all turning towards the door to the dance studio, where none other than Kim Namjoon himself stood. He had wide eyes and his jaw dropped slightly, blush creeping up his cheeks.

Jungkook’s heart fell to his stomach. Had his hyung seen what he’d just done? Had he heard what the others said? Judging by the look on his face, yes, yes he did.

Everything was silent in the normally chaotic dance studio, Namjoon trying to process the information he’d just been given, and the other three trying to find a way to explain what they’d just accidentally revealed.

Jungkook’s mouth felt dry and full of cotton, his heartbeat the only thing he could really hear pounding in his ears.

The maknae tore out the back door to the studio before any of them could even think to stop him. He ran through the company hallways until he reached the front door and then he ran some more.

Namjoon knew. Namjoon knew.

Despite the fact that Jungkook wanted his hyung to know, now that it was happening it was all just too much for him to handle.

What if his hyung hated him now or was disgusted with him? Jungkook felt his stomach twist into knots at the thought.

Jungkook ran and ran and ran. His lungs were aching for breath and vision was blurry from his tears, but he never once stopped.

Then he internally gasped. What if everything was ruined now, and the whole band was going to have to break up because of his stupid feelings? Jungkook would never, could never let that happen, but to keep the peace between the other members he’d probably have to leave the group himself.

“Jungkook! Jungkook!”

The maknae vaguely heard the voice calling after him as he ran, but it was overrun by his self-deprecating thoughts.

The sound of car horns honking loudly brought him back to the present and Jungkook realized he was in the middle of a road and while other vehicles had managed to stop for him in time, there was one dark-colored car that was heading straight for him.

“Jungkook!”

There was a harsh yank on Jungkook’s arm and he managed to stumble out of the way of the car as it came to a screeching halt. The vehicle would have hit him if he’d stayed in that spot. It wasn’t going fast enough to have killed him, but he definitely would have broken some bones.

The maknae looked around him in a shocked daze that didn’t feel at all like reality. Now safely on the sidewalk, he looked up to see Namjoon standing there with his arms around Jungkook tightly.

“Jungkook, oh my god, that was so close!” Namjoon was rambling under his breath. The man raised his hands to Jungkook’s face and inspected it. “Are you hurt?”

Jungkook shook his head, not being able to find any words in his shocked state.

Taking a deep breath, Namjoon pulled out a black mask matching the one he had on himself and slipped it onto the maknae’s face. “Let’s get you out of here before someone recognizes you. I think we need to talk, Jungkook-ah.”

The two of them took a car back to their dorm because apparently Jungkook had gotten impossibly far in his race to get away from his problems. They didn’t speak while the manager drove them back, but Namjoon held onto Jungkook’s hand firmly.

Jungkook was still so shell-shocked from his almost car accident that everything went by in a haze. The next thing he knew he was sitting on the couch in their dorm with a blanket wrapped around him and a cup of water in his hands.

Namjoon sat down beside him and set a hand on the maknae’s shoulder. “Kook-ah, can you look at me please?”

And Jungkook couldn’t say no to his hyung, had never been able to, so he raised his watery eyes and looked his hyung in the face.

The leader’s expression was concerned but calm. He gave a gentle smile. “I’m so glad you’re okay. I was so scared when you took off like that...and when that car almost...” he trailed off.

“‘M sorry,” Jungkook croaked, his throat still feeling tight and dry from his panic attack.

Namjoon shook his head, “No...no. You don’t need to apologize. Just...you can’t run away like that when you’re scared. I don’t want you to get hurt.”

Jungkook nodded. “Me neither. I’ll try to do better.”

Namjoon sighed and started hesitantly, “So...you have feelings for me?”

The maknae’s breath hitched again and he could feel the panic attack that had settled slightly come back full force. His whole body began shaking with the effort to breathe and his heartbeat was racing in his chest.

“Jungkook! Jungkook, it’s okay! It’s okay!” Namjoon hurried to say. He grabbed the maknae by the arms and tried to get him to look into his eyes. “Don’t panic again, baby, please.”

“D-Don’t hate Kookie, please Daddy!” Jungkook slipped into littlespace without any warning. “’M sorry, ‘m sorry!” he sobbed.

“Daddy could never hate you, baby,” Namjoon replied, desperation in his voice. “I-I love you, Kookie. I’ve loved you for years.”

Jungkook stopped breathing completely for a moment. “W-What?”

Namjoon sighed and hung his head. “I never told anyone and I tried my best to hide it. I never even thought you could love me back.”

Jungkook had so much he wanted to say, needed to say, but for a few minutes, he had to regain control over his breathing. Namjoon helped him by breathing deeply with him and running his hand through his hair soothingly.

“Y-You love K-Kookie?”

The leader smiled shyly, “Yeah, yeah, I do.”

“Daddy loves Kookie,” Jungkook repeated under his breath in awe. Then he broke into an ecstatic grin. “Daddy loves Kookie!”

Namjoon couldn’t help but smile back at the younger’s cuteness. “That’s right, baby.”

Jungkook scooted over until he was seated in the older man’s lap. “Kookie loves Daddy.”

Namjoon let out a breath he didn’t realize he’d been holding as a breathy chuckle. “That’s so good to hear, baby.”

A light bulb went off in Jungkook’s head and he looked at the older with a shy blush on his cheeks. “K-Kookie made something for you.”

The maknae jumped off of Namjoon’s lap and ran down the hallway to his room. When he returned, he had a large piece of paper in his hand and was pulling his lip nervously between his teeth. Then he shut his eyes tightly and thrust the arm with the paper out in Namjoon’s direction.

Trying to fight a coo at the younger’s cute shyness, Namjoon took the paper and turned it over to see what it was. His breath hitched in his throat.

It was a picture drawn in crayons, obviously done by Little Kookie as he didn’t have as much artistic talent as his older headspace. There were two figures in the middle that appeared to be holding each other with smiles on their faces. Above their heads in speech bubbles were the words ‘I love you’. Behind the two figures were five others who were clapping happily.

It didn’t take a genius to figure out that the two figures in front were Namjoon and Jungkook, and the others in the back were their best friends. The maknae had portrayed all of their hair colors and styles pretty accurately. The picture was so sweet that the leader actually had to fight back some tears.

“This...this is beautiful, baby.” he managed out.

Jungkook finally reopened his eyes and looked at the older man with hope. “Really? Daddy likes it?”

Namjoon chuckled and reached out to run a hand through the maknae’s hair before pulling him back into his lap. “Daddy loves it.” Then he furrowed his brow in thought. “When did you draw this, though? I’m usually the one with you when you’re in littlespace.”

“TaeTae-hyungie and Jinnie-hyungie took care of Kookie when Daddy was at work one day,” the younger explained. “Kookie was really sad and he missed Daddy lots, so TaeTae said Kookie should draw a picture for Daddy.”

“Well, it’s a wonderful picture,” Namjoon praised, kissing the younger’s cheeks in thanks.

The two of them sat curled up together on the couch for hours. Namjoon rubbed the maknae’s back soothingly and the younger tucked his head comfortably into his hyung’s neck.

At one point, Namjoon got up and retrieved Jungkook’s Iron Man blanket and red pacifier from the bedroom. When he returned to the living room with them, the younger’s eyes widened and he made grabby hands at them.

They settled together again and Namjoon turned on Spongebob Squarepants on the television, though neither of them were really giving their full attention to it.

Their peace was disturbed when the front door burst open and their five bandmates piled into the room. The sudden noise startled both of them, Jungkook’s pacifier falling from his mouth as it opened in surprise.

Seokjin was the first one to get to them, his eyes wide with worry. “Sejin-hyung just told us about Kookie’s almost accident. Is everything okay?”

Hoseok was next to him in a second. “Oh god, Kookie, I’m so sorry I told your secret and caused you to run off like that. I didn’t mean to, I swear!”

“Kookie’s okay,” Jungkook answered genuinely. “And Hobi-hyungie don’t have to say sorry, Kookie isn’t mad or sad about it.”

Hoseok looked relieved and gave the maknae a kiss on the top of his head.

“So...” Jimin looked between the two on the couch pointedly. “Did you guys talk at all?”

Jungkook broke into a big bunny grin that had them all clutching at their hearts in fondness. “Yeah! Guess what Jiminie-hyungie? Daddy loves Kookie too!”

Everyone looked at their leader with happy, slightly surprised eyes. “Really?” Jimin questioned with a smile.

Namjoon felt his face and neck flush sheepishly. “Yeah, I’ve loved Kookie for a few years but I had no idea he loved me too. Did...did all of you know how Jungkook felt about me?”

The five of them nodded.

“We’ve known for a few years,” Taehyung admitted.

“Yeah, it didn’t take us very long to figure it out,” Yoongi added. “We didn’t know how you felt, though.”

Namjoon sighed, “I’m such an idiot.”

“Yeah, you are.”

“IQ 148 my ass.”

“We been knew.”

“Hey!” Jungkook scowled adorably at his hyungs. “Don’t be mean to Daddy! And don’t say bad words!”

Almost immediately, all of them mimicked zipping their lips closed and throwing away the key. Damn, all of BTS really were whipped for their maknae.

“Alright, now that that’s out of the way,” Yoongi stepped up closer and put his hands on his hips, expression serious. “We need to talk about Jungkook running off today and almost getting hit by a car.”

Jungkook groaned, ashamed, and buried his head back into Namjoon’s neck. The last thing he wanted to do right now was talk about this again.

The leader started rubbing his back again and turned to the others. “Leave him be. I already spoke with him about it and he said he’ll try not to run next time. I think the car almost hitting him was a big reality check.”

Jungkook smiled into the older man’s neck as he heard his other hyungs grumbling and pouting. Namjoon always knew exactly what he needed.

Jungkook loved Namjoon so much.

And Namjoon loved Jungkook just as much back.

Hoseok knew that going into a career that involved dancing meant having sore feet all the time and countless other injuries. It was unavoidable. He’d been lucky enough in his thirteen years of dancing not to have done anything severe. He’d never even broken a bone before.

However, there was a first time for everything.

All the BTS members and staff were gathered together in the rented performance hall, polishing everything up for the online concert they were going to be having in just a few weeks’ time.

Hoseok made a simple misstep while going through the choreography and his foot missed the stage, instead plunging him off of the rather high platform they were on.

As the lead dancer felt the breath knock out of him and an excruciating pain running up his left leg, he could hear the distant-sounding calls of his bandmates.

“Hoseok-ah!”

“Hyung!”

Namjoon was the first one to reach him, followed quickly by the other members and some of their staff. The leader had wide, concerned eyes as he kneeled next to Hoseok’s collapsed form. “Hobi-hyung, can you hear me?”

There were a few startled gasps and a couple swear words from the others, but Hoseok could barely focus on anything other than Namjoon’s face, the floaty feeling in his head, and the sudden numbness in his whole body.

“Hobi-hyung,” Namjoon repeated, trying his best to keep his voice calm.

Hoseok swallowed, “J-Joonie?” his tone was soft and airy, instantly giving away his little headspace. “H-Hobi f-fell.”

Namjoon, who immediately crowded in closer when he realized the other was in littlespace, took his hand and smiled sadly. “I know you did, baby. It was a pretty bad fall.”

Seokjin came into his view, immediately taking up Hoseok’s other hand. “Can you tell hyungs how you’re feeling, sweetheart?”

“I-It hurt before, but the pain went away now,” Hoseok replied softly.

Seokjin and Namjoon shared a concerned look between them at that.

Before anything else could be said, Jimin appeared at Hoseok’s head, upside down in his vision. “Baby, it looks like you’re gonna get to ride in an ambulance today, isn’t that cool?”

“Am-bu-ance,” Hoseok sounded out, eyes widening. “B-But the pain is gone. Hobi doesn’t need help.”

“Your leg is hurt, honey,” Seokjin said, kissing the little’s knuckles in comfort. “A doctor needs to look at it.”

Hoseok whined, looking between his three bandmates. “H-Hurt? I-Is it bad?”

There was a silence before Jimin smiled at him, though even upside down it looked more like a wince. “It’s pretty bad, baby.”

Almost instinctively, Hoseok lifted his head to glance down at his legs but was stopped by his three boyfriends pushing him back and shaking their heads frantically at him.

“No, don’t get up, sweetheart,” Seokjin said, a strained smile on his lips. “Don’t look at it.”

“Just look at us,” Jimin added, running his fingers through Hoseok’s disheveled dark locks.

Hoseok was so distracted and out of it that he barely noticed when the paramedics arrived, nor when they stabilized his leg. He frowned when he was lifted onto a gurney and the world began flying by. He immediately missed the warmth of Seokjin, Namjoon, and Jimin’s hands on him.

Yoongi came into his view before he could whine in displeasure, running a hand through the younger’s hair before they lifted him into the ambulance. The eldest rapper hopped in after him and sat next to him as the vehicle started up.

“I’m right here, Hobi-ah. Hyung’s right here, love,” Yoongi assured him.

A few seconds went by (or a few minutes - Hoseok’s mind was getting too fuzzy to understand time properly) before the younger spoke up. “H-Hyungie, don’t feel good.”

“I know you don’t, bub,” Yoongi replied softly. “It’ll be okay, though. I promise.”

Hoseok didn’t get to hear anymore before he fell completely into unconsciousness, but the older man’s words made him feel more at ease.

“How is he?” Jungkook stood up abruptly in the private waiting room as Yoongi walked in. Jimin put a hand on his shoulder and gave a gentle tug so he would sit back down.

Yoongi sighed, “He passed out on the way here. The paramedics said it was from shock but his vital signs were normal, if a bit elevated but they said it was to be expected. They just took him into the operating room so I had to leave him.”

“Did they say anything about how badly his leg was broken?” Namjoon asked worriedly.

Yoongi shook his head and sunk into Taehyung’s lap, who wasted no time wrapping his arms around his hyung.

Being a dancer and just an active person in general, all of them were worried about how long this injury was going to affect their boyfriend and how he would get through it.

It felt like forever before the doctor finally came into the room, a small smile on his lips. “Jung Hoseok is doing alright,” he said before anything else. The man was on the shorter side and probably in his late forties, a pair of black-framed glasses sitting on his nose. Dr. Song was one of the doctors that frequently tended to the BTS members, so it was nice to see a familiar face.

All six of them were on their feet and anxiously awaiting what the doctor would say next.

The man took a deep breath and glanced down at his file. “Hoseok-ssi suffered an impacted fracture of his left fibula and caused some damage internally, but nothing major was disrupted. Thankfully, he only has two hairline fractures in his tibia that should heal within a few weeks.”

They all let out a simultaneous sigh of relief; at least Hoseok hadn’t broken both leg bones.

“And the operation went alright?” Seokjin asked.

Dr. Song nodded, “Smooth sailing. He’ll be in a cast for about eight or nine weeks. After that, with some physical therapy, he should be back to dancing by the beginning of next year.”

“That’s good to hear,” Jimin said with a smile. “Thank you so much for everything, Dr. Song.”

The man smiled back at him. “No need to thank me. I can take you to him now if you’d like, though he is still unconscious at the moment.”

The six of them eagerly followed the doctor through the maze of hallways until they reached a room marked with ‘Private Room #7’ written on it in clear, bold letters.

“He should be awake within the hour but he’ll probably be out of it for a good while after that. We’ve given him some medication for the pain and judging by the notes on his file that says he’s sensitive to drugs, he’ll most likely be a bit loopy.” Dr. Song explained as he led them into the private room.

The room itself was fairly large and had a sofa and a few chairs around for seating. Dr. Song moved to pull aside a curtain that revealed Hoseok laying on the hospital bed. He only had an IV in his hand and a heartrate monitor over his left pointer finger. They observed their boyfriend’s paler than normal complexion but peaceful face as he slept.

“I’ll come back in a little while with some prescriptions to help with his pain,” Dr. Song gave a quick smile and bow which the boys all returned before the man left the room.

As soon as the doctor had disappeared, all six pairs of eyes were back on their boyfriend’s unconscious form and a silence fell over the room for a few minutes.

“He’s not going to be happy when he wakes up to find himself in the hospital,” Yoongi commented.

Jimin hummed in agreement, “He hates hospitals.”

They all knew how much of an understatement that was. Hoseok had a huge phobia of hospitals. Thankfully, their private room was fairly comfortable and homey, only the IV and monitor giving an indicator it was a hospital room at all.

“Do you think he’ll be Little?” Seokjin asked.

“Hard to say for sure,” Namjoon replied. “Though I think he might slip pretty quickly even if he wakes up Big.”

Jungkook was the one that looked away from Hoseok long enough to realize that they were kind of just creepily standing around his bed, hovering over him. “I think we’ll scare him if he wakes up and sees us like this.”

They went about gathering some chairs and along with the couch in the room, there was enough seating for all of them.

Taehyung was leaning on his hand as he watched Hoseok once more. He pouted and sighed, “I feel bad for hyung. I hope his leg will heal alright.”

Yoongi reached over from his seat to ruffled Taehyung’s hair, a fond smile on his lips. “We’ll do everything we can to help him, and we can hope.”

Hoseok blinked his eyes open, though they felt like they were weighed down by lead. He was met with the sight of a white ceiling and tan walls and unmistakable machinery beside him, and his six boyfriends scattered around the room.

Namjoon and Jimin were curled up together in a comfy chair on the right side of the bed Hoseok was on, fast asleep. Yoongi and Jin were slumped together on a couch a few feet away from the end of the bed, also fast asleep.

The only two who seemed to be awake were the maknaes. Taehyung and Jungkook were both seated on a chair together on Hoseok’s left, speaking softly with each other. When they caught sight of Hoseok’s open eyes they sat up straighter and looked at him with wide eyes.

“Hyung!” Jungkook blurted out.

Taehyung immediately shushed him, “Don’t wake the others.” Then he turned back to Hoseok with that gentle, boxy smile of his. “I’m so glad you’re awake, hyung. You really scared us earlier.”

Hoseok blinked at them, still trying to put the puzzle pieces of what had happened together. He was in a hospital - that much he had gathered - but the why was what he didn’t know.

Jungkook seemed to read his mind and said softly, “You had an accident during our concert rehearsal earlier.”

Oh, now he remembered.

Hoseok’s face paled and his eyes widened as his mind replayed the horrible experience. Tears welled up in his eyes before he could stop them, and he sniffled loudly. “H-Hobi gots hurt!” he managed out with a scratchy voice.

Jungkook instantly got up and hurried out of the room to get him a cup of water, while Taehyung’s face softened at Little Hobi. “You did, bub.” He replied, taking one of Hoseok’s hands into his own. “But you’re going to be just fine. Do you hurt at all right now, sweetheart?”

Hoseok shook his head and Taehyung smiled, relieved.

Jungkook returned with a large Styrofoam cup of iced water. He held it out and positioned the straw for Hoseok to take a sip. The cool water instantly helped the dryness in his throat.

“D-Does...” Little Hobi started, “Does Hobi have booboos?”

Taehyung and Jungkook shared a glance before Taehyung answered, “Yeah, baby. You broke your leg, but the doctor fixed it up in a cast so it can heal quickly.”

Hoseok let out a little whine as he looked at his legs, obscured from his view by a mountain of blankets (Seokjin’s doing probably). One leg was obviously larger than the other because of the cast, but at least he wasn’t in any pain.

“Hobi hyu- I mean, Hobi love,” Jungkook said, grabbing his attention once more. “I got some colorful markers from the nurses,” he held up a small bag of markers that Hoseok had missed, “I thought maybe we could draw pretty things all over your cast to help it get better. What do you think?”

Hoseok’s eyes widened and he smiled, tiredly but happily. “Yes, yes! Please Kookie. Please Taehyungie! Draw pretty pictures, please!”

The two maknaes chuckled fondly. Taehyung nodded, “Of course, love.”

Hoseok wasn’t so scared when Jungkook maneuvered the blankets off of his left leg and revealed the bulky cast covering most of his leg. It looked too plain, but Taehyung and Jungkook quickly worked to fix that by covering it in a variety of colors.

Hoseok giggled as the other two bickered about their drawings, feeling the last of the absolute fear he’d felt earlier leave him completely. He was still uncomfortable in the hospital, his fear ever lingering, and he was even more scared about his leg healing, but he knew he had his six boyfriends right by his side (quite literally, right now) who would help him through the tough weeks to come.
