BritWeek (Los Angeles’ annual celebration of British culture) and the BABC LA (British American Business Council Los Angeles) are proud to announce The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Party at the Fairmont Miramar Hotel & Bungalows in Santa Monica. The highly anticipated gathering will take place from 3 - 6 pm on Sunday, July 10th.

Attendees will be entertained by some remarkable talents, including Legendary DJ Paul Oakenfold (voted no. 1 DJ in the world by DJ magazine); 9-piece Amy Winehouse Tribute Band Dear Amy; Beatles Tribute Band Plastic Soul; singing sensation Victoria Summer (renowned as 'Julie Andrews' in Disney's Saving Mr. Banks, opposite Tom Hanks); and Lauren Samuels (London West End singing star and host of the podcast, A Brit in LA).

Produced by the BABC LA in conjunction with BritWeek, the festive event will feature British grub fit for the Queen, British style drinks and an exclusive opportunity to win Upper Class Tickets to London on Virgin Atlantic Airways! This will be THE event of the summer for expats and Anglophiles alike, and a wonderful opportunity to celebrate both the Queen’s 70 years of service to the UK and the Commonwealth, and the US-UK Special Relationship.

In attendance will be British Consul General Emily Cloke, who will toast the Queen; BritWeek Co-Founder Nigel Lythgoe OBE PhD; CNN’s royalty expert and BBC Contributor Sandro Monetti; and honored dignitaries, celebrities and leaders from the British and American business community.

Guests are encouraged to dress in Garden Party Royal Festive, and Children 14 and under (max 2 per household) may attend for free.

Katy Haber MBE will be honored for her many years of charitable services, with a special presentation by Congressional candidate Jan Perry. A founding member of the British Academy of Film and Television Arts Los Angeles (BAFTA LA), Katy sat on its board for 23 years, co-founded the Community Education Committee, and served 4 years on the BAFTA Council. Appointed a Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (MBE) for services to the Los Angeles community, Katy has been lauded for her contributions to countering homelessness and gang prevention through sports, and her arts education work with inner-city youth. Her tireless volunteerism caps an extraordinary life in film.

BritWeek Chairman Nigel Daly OBE will announce the BritWeek Christopher Guy Design Icon Award, in honor of the late Christopher Guy, longtime supporter, former Board member and generous philanthropist. A world-renowned designer who made his brand a hallmark of luxury home design, Christopher Guy has graced the interiors of the biggest Luxury Hotels in the World with his furnishings. It is with pride that we honor his extraordinary life and achievements.

Or should I say, “the jewel in the crown!”
