Em from Breathing Problem
Question for all you doctors and nurses and other such medical professionals out there: what does it mean you can't breathe properly if you lay flat on your back? I've had this problem my whole life and it gives me sleeping issues sometimes even when I'm using like five pillows to prop myself up.
Me: my breathing problems aren't that bad
Also me: doesn't realize at first im getting dizzy bc im holding my breaths in between each one bc otherwise id go into a coughing fit

Does anyone know a good way to get rid of an onset of air hunger?
It feels impossible to get a normal breath in, and when I exhale it feels like there’s still air in my lungs. I’ve been breathing heavily and my heart has been beating really fast, and I constantly feel like I’m out of breath. I lie down to try and catch my breath but it doesn’t always work, so I’m left gasping for air for hours, like tonight.
I’m trying out breathing exercises but none of them are working, and I can’t stop focusing on my breathing even when I try to distract myself, so it’s like breathing “manually”.
This has been happening on and off for several months, and it always seems to start in the afternoon once I get home from classes. I don’t have any chronic illnesses, just anxiety.
This is really annoying and concerning, and I wish it would just go away :(
