Zaatar Pita Bread | Manakish Za’atar Bread

Yayyyy!!! We are in the last recipe of this baking marathon. For Z, I am going to share popular pita bread from Lebanon – it’s the Zaatar bread or Zaktar bread. Vanocka Bread | Czech Braided Christmas Bread | Eggless Vánočka

Hallullas | Chilean Biscuits

Another yeast based bread recipe from Chile. Hallullas are chilian flat round baked bread / soft biscuits perfect for sandwiches. This time instead of preparing them as bread I made them as buns/rolls so that I can serve them along with butter or jam/spread. I love the bread rolls served in the flight, so thought of mimicking this hallulla bread recipe as buns. (more…)

Pita Pocket Salad Wrap

For this week’s blogging Marathon, the theme is “Rolls and Wraps”.  I got this recipe from my colleague V. Its a very simple salad dish which can be prepared under 30 minutes. A protein packed salad with garbanzo beans and hummus. It is very filling as we are wrapping it up in the pita pockets.

For the third day for the bread stubs, I am preparing kulcha.  Instead of plain, I am doing onion kulcha. I love kulchas as they are easy to make at home. Its pretty much like bhatoora dough but curd is used less and milk is also used. I usually let it sit for 4 hrs and I have used active yeast also when don’t have baking soda and baking powder. Makki di Roti using white corn meal

The second bread stub that I am doing is Makki Di Roti in South Indian Style and using white corn meal. I usually get white corn meal for dusting for pizza stone. Apart from corn bread and pudding, I use it for making this roti. I make it similar to ragi roti. Usually we have this with Sarson ki Saag, but as I am making this in south Indian Style, the side dish is also South Indian style spinach…
