Fishion number 5 : clown loach / botia clown
I love these fish ❤️, we had a few when i was a kid. They were the most playful little things, sometimes i would go check on them at night to see them chase each other
Of course, it’s mandatory that I share a short clip of these clowns (no pun intended!). They are super stoked after water change day. This is probably the best part of every water change. Sure the fish get a bit upset. They also act extra perky.
I can’t imagine why people will refuse to do them. It’s so rewarding to look at a clean tank, and see how happy the fish are. Also, if you see this reblogged or what ever, remember this tank’s size is not limited to the frame of what you see in this short clip. It’s a 6 foot tank. It’s hardscaped so the shelter and hides are on the flanks (sides) and the middle remains open for swimming room/foraging.
Gold zebra loach: Highly recommend. (Botia histrionica) SUPER active, fun to watch, graze on some algae and anything that falls to the ground (also snails, so be warned 🐌). Minimum 30 gallon tank (will definitely use every inch of your tank) Lots of plants and hidy spots. Low PH (6.5-7.5). 75-80 degrees F. Soft water 5-10 dh. Great community fish, but best to only have one. Native range: India, Myanmar
So, ever heard the clicking sounds of botia loaches? They were so loud, even my phone camera was picking it up. Watch with sound!

So I was laying in bed because I’m feeling a bit, off. My biggest loach, I call silver back because of the markings on his back came out and just starting be like...a sealdogphin or something. Just doing all sorts of silly cute things. Caught it on camera. Hope you all enjoy as much as I did.
This will be my last update on Tumblr for some time. Going away to visit family in another state, but here is a post Sat morning meal shot of my big tank. Fire Eel has a full belly but it still out hoping for seconds.
Just a short little clip of my botia loaches taking apart a ball of black-worms. Enjoy!
