#book question

Now, everyone is entitled to their opinions! Let's get that out of the way. I am a strong advocate for discussions without insults (not a sentiment many believe in).

My question to those on tumblr, because I'm curious:

Would anyone truly complain about the POV that this book is in? And depending on whose it is, are you reading or skipping?

I've seen people say if it's Elain, Tamlin, or Nesta again, they will be pissed and are "threatening" to not read it or skip it entirely. They are afraid of it being a "Tower of Dawn situation." (ToD was my fave ToG book)

Tower of Dawn is arguably the most important book in that whole damn series. And people skip it because of Chaol.

So people will skip ACOTAR 6 if it is Elain or Tamlin's POV. I just find that insane.

We don't even know Elain-not truly. We "know" her from 2 different people's opinions: Feyre and Nesta. We don't know Elain at all.

Tamlin would be fascinating because we don't even know him, either. And HE knows things. Things about Rhysand that we don't know the truth of. And probably a lot more.

And SJM already said we aren't close to being done with Nesta's story (if I remember correctly. It was a while back when I saw that).

Like I'm gonna eat this next book up no matter whose POV it is, even if it's Rhysand. AND I CAN'T STAND HIM.

Question 1? Have any of the tributes tried to kill themselves before the games.

Question 2? I just watched a Hunger Games tiktok, they said that Volunteering = death in District 12 and that's why they don't do it. However it's one of the poorest districts, so your telling me. That no one's ever been desperate enough to volunteer just for the food? Like yeah. You're probably gonna die but at least get a meal out of it.

Oh! Excellent question! Thank you for asking it! (and sorry for the slow response time) My ultimate over-and-over again book is: The Bridge of Beyond by Simone Schwartz-Bart. (Or: Pluie et Vent sur Tellumet Miracle in French...no idea why they changed the title this much in translation)

The book meanders through the lives of two generations of women in Guadeloupe, tracing their joys, heartbreaks, and resilience through a deeply saturated sense of place and the constant presence of Caribbean idiom and folklore. Every time my heart is broken, I read it again. Each time, it teaches me to find wonder in my sorrow, and strength to go on.

On a very different note, my when-I'm-feeling-indulgent-re-read is: The Less than Epic Adventures of TJ and Amal by E.K. Weaver.

It is a tenderly drawn, slowly unfolding romance, and one of my favorite ways to vicariously fall in love. Although I have and re-read the print version, it originated as a webcomic and is still up to read for free in its entirety!
