"I don't remember seeing you before..."

Hello blueriza! Oh boy, I miss comic conventions. I haven’t been to any since October last year, I think? Stupid pandemic. Anyway, here’s Law being a total fanboy, hope you enjoy! 

When Law asked you to go with him to a comic convention, you agreed. You loved how he looked when he talked about the Germa comics, even if you didn’t grow up with them yourself. Seeing him at a comic convention would be cute too, right?

The two of you did go in disguise though. You were both well known pirates with bounties, you couldn’t just waltz into a place like that and not expect to get in trouble. And trouble is the last thing Law wanted when going to the convention.

As you watched Law go about his day, you realized just how much of a comic nerd he actually was. He was actively looking for first prints to add to his collection. If there was a booth with figured, he’d look for any he didn’t have yet, and would call out any vendor who was selling bootlegs. How he could see they were fake was a mystery to you.

In the middle of the hall, there was a display with life-size statues of different comic figures. Once Law saw the Sora one, he looked like a kid in the candy store. He insisted you’d take a picture of him with it and you were pretty sure he was going to frame that one later.

Law actively searched out artists who made fanart of his favourite characters. He said that he loved the different takes other fans had on the characters showed the character of both them and the artist. He also often struck up a small conversation with the artist about the character, complimenting them on their work and talking with them about certain choices of style, colour,…

One time though, he almost blew his own cover. As he was talking with another Sora fan, somebody walked by and insulted Sora. Law and the other fan went into discussion with the newcomer, which soon turned into an argument. You saw Law raise his hand to create a room, clearly wanting to shut the rude newcomer up, but you jumped in before he could. If he blew his cover you’d have to leave after all, and you were pretty sure he wasn’t done looking around yet.

At the end of the day, the two of you walked the complete convention three times. Law wanted to be absolutely sure he didn’t miss a thing. Your feet hurt like hell, but Law looking around with that twinkle in his eyes made everything worth it. It was pretty much a day of Law dragging you around and telling you the whole story of the comics based on posters and figures.

🍜 ~ Dinnerdate: where do they take you?

Lucci definitely takes you to a more fancy place. Somewhere so fancy you feel borderline uncomfortable, just because it’s miles above any restaurant you would sensibly go to. You have to dress up formally, and you do take joy in making sure you look your best for him.

He will be awfully quiet and calm, as he usually is, as you look over the menu in a panic since the prizes make you dizzy and you don’t even recognize half of the items that are on. Thankfully, Lucci will not mind doing the ordering, and like a real gentleman, he pays for the meal as well. After all, he chose this place, knowing very well it wouldn’t be in your comfort zone.

Law

Dress-up: What are their favorite costume to wear and what kind of costume do they enjoy? Would they put on a costume or are they reluctant to do so? Do they put effort in their costume or are they doing the minimum?

NOTHING. Law hates the very fact that he has to dress up to be a part of the whole Halloween thing, because frankly, it’s definitely childish and not the best kind of entertainment for him. Surely, he gets the feeling that some people are utterly impatient to reach that time of the year, but frankly? Putting on stupid costumes? That’s such a Straw Hat thing to do... So don’t expect him to put the slightest effort in his outfit. He’s the man who puts a basket over his head in Wano arc, or just a mustache in Dressrosa and called it a day! He’ll probably borrow something in someone’s closet, or even worse, would just go inside the kitchen and use the first dish towel and turns it to whatever could use a vampire, or anything. Fake blood would be some ketchup, and if you dare to tell him that he’s really not putting the slightest effort in his costume, he will just throw you that dark stare, smirking proudly because, yes, at least, you got the general idea: he doesn’t care. You should be thankful he’s actually wearing something for this stupid holiday. 

Frankenstein:  Favorite literature to read during this spooky period? Comics? Novels?

Both comics and novels are welcome when it comes to Law, but he has a certain sweet spot for monster comics. Honestly, a good story with some zombies and some mad scientist could be the perfect way to enjoy his evening. The more it’s gory, and the more he will appreciate it. After all, it’s hard to shock someone as Law, and he has never hidden his tastes for blood and other experiences... He’s probably having his own gore comics collection, and forbids anyone from his crew to borrow them. He’s aware that Bepo will certainly have nightmares and doesn’t want to deal with that. 

For novels, Law is more attracted by the classic readings. Dracula, The Silence of the Lambs... He often goes back to them! 

Orange: What would be their favorite spooky dishes and what do they enjoy to drink and eat during that period, or during the halloween celebrations?

He doesn’t have a particular preference for any kind of dishes, as long as he’s avoiding bread for sure. Though, he appreciates the efforts some people put in creating those atrocious cakes, or others snacks, to impress their guests. A zombie brain cake is always something, especially when he sees how easily it disgusts everyone! Though, he wouldn’t probably eat it for bread reason. Again, nothing can really upset him, so having a pumpkin drink with an eyeball floating inside can definitely amuse him. 

Of course, he allows himself to have more sugar during this period, so Law will succumb to some candy apples, for example, but he’s not falling into the trap of having stomachaches, and will control his munchies. 

Dark chocolate candies are more appreciated, with a bit of salt to cut the sweetness of the treat, and he’s honestly a very happy man, which is, you know, such a rare thing. 

Requiem: What would be their favorite music to listen for halloween? Do they have specific tastes?

Hard to define someone like Law, his music tastes are honestly as wild as his medicine! He appreciates old classic hard rock music, or death metal music when he’s in the mood to carve hideous pumpkins, but can let himself tempted by spooky piano lullabies when he’s reading. Though, he has a certain thing for organ if he has to pick something. He knows it creeps out Bepo a lot and will religiously listen to it, hearing his friend whining in the corridor that “Captain is listening to creepy music again!” 

Supernatural: What are their beliefs? Do they actually trust in supernatural existence in the first place?

As a scientist, Law claims that he doesn’t believe in any kind of supernatural existence in the first place. He’s utterly rational, and doesn’t lose himself in the everlasting hope to see the people he loved one day in the Afterlife. It’s definitely a closed door, perhaps even more since he doesn’t want to ever experience that kind of feelings anymore ; life is life, atoms, organs, cells, and when people die, they disappear, and that’s it. There’s no need to dwell on hypothetic beliefs, there are no proves nor evidences that ghosts, paradise, or things life this exist.

Rob Lucci’s S/O Suggesting to Wear a Couple’s Costume

Rob Lucci is very much like a cat; you can’t get him to do anything he doesn’t want to do, sometimes you can’t get him to do something her may even want to do if you suggest it to him, and he will forever fight his S/O over his stubbornness. Sometimes he can be coaxed into a decision if he’s in a good mood though, or he’s feeling like entertaining a request for his S/O—just because he cares for them enough. 

That being said, his S/O would have to really get him in the right mood if they want him to wear a Halloween costume with them. He works for Cipher Pol, and is used to being a master of disguise, but it’s totally different when it’s something ridiculous like a cat costume or a skeleton for a simple holiday. His pride is too good for it. 

He won’t even begin to think about entertaining the idea, no matter how much begging his S/O may do or how cute the idea of a couple’s costume may be. Giving in is a sign of weakness, and he isn’t going to be made to look like a fool or weak in front of anyone, especially his S/O. 

Lucci isn’t going to listen to any amount of pleading or whining from his S/O, as far as he’s concerned the whole idea is off the table and he’s going to forget it and try and change the subject to something else. 

The only way that they would be able to even get close to convincing him is to promise that the costume isn’t anything ridiculous or humiliating, and it’s something he will like. Something simple and basic without any ridiculous amounts of makeup, and preferably that fits into his own aesthetic—like a vampire, the Phantom of the Opera, or a warlock. 

oh yeah you’ve hit the nail right on the head!

i love how empathetic and just openly emotional franky is. like, i love his crying, obviously (given how much ive talked about it;;) but also, he’s so quick to care about and help others! he really is one of the most empathic straw hats (along with sanji and chopper).

and it also fun to see how that intersects with his others traits! mostly his cybernetics and his manliness. like, i love cyborgs angsting abt their humanity as much as the next guy, but i also love cyborgs that love their cybernetics and are completely confident in their humanity. and it’s always nice to see super macho guys be so in tune with their own emotions and willing to express them, we need more of that. no real men don’t cry bs here, no sir.

I think (at least it seems like it) that a lot of the Japanese FRobin artists decided to upload their older works. They drew all these for anthologies and to sell them as doujinshis and finally share them.
