BLOOM PROJECT ‘17 -’18
March. My birthday month, the month that Adelaide ‘comes alive’, and now the month that I finally decide to kickstart the creative journey that I always knew I was destined for.
I have wanted to start this blog for so long now but have failed to do so because I lead ‘such a busy life’ and I’m great at procrastinating when it comes to things that really matter to me.Â
This is all about to change.
From March 1, 2017 I will start my creative journey and will put all of my spare time and energy into my BLOOM PROJECT.
My BLOOM PROJECT is a unique one. It is a year-long project that will require my dedication and determination to simply create for the sake of creating. I will create paintings. I will create extravagant desserts. I will create travel movies. I will create artistic photography. I will create terrible poetry. I will create for the sake of creating, for the joy that it always seems to bring me. This will be my meditation, the ‘me’ time that I always seem to neglect.
I have no idea how this is going to progress, but my main goal at this point will be to create at least one ‘thing’ per day and document this on my blog. My goal is to fully dedicate myself to this BLOOM PROJECT to see where it will take me and how I grow as a person.Â
I hope to bloom, to grow and to blossom in these 365 days.Â

I always thought the sun shined from your face, ever since I was a little, little girl.
I should have covered my eyes, because the intentional + profound ways you’ve hurt me, my brothers, my mother is unspeakable.

(i missed a couple days because of life, but didn’t want to abandon this so here i am.)
a few adult things i’ve done recently (go me):
1. made my annual lady appointment UGH
2. purchased a plant
3. whitened my teeth (too much coffee=yikes)
4. bought AND used facial sunscreen
5. ordered a drink at the bar with jameson in it

I eat sweets like mad whenever I'm home for a visit. My mom stocks the kitchen with all sorts of cookies and candy and the like. I feast like the broke college girl I am. It sort of leaves me with a perpetual tummy ache during the visit, though. I'm always feeling a little bit like I just stepped off a roller coaster. Dizzy from the sugar.

Sunday's that begin with Oprah & end with made-from-scratch cookies are winners. Being at my mom's house is incredibly relaxing. Her and I just get each other. I know I should drive the extra thirty miles to stay with my dad for a night on my short trip home, but it gives me enormous anxiety. There are such difficult & painful memories that live in the walls there.

Some days, I like to take a quiet moment and say to myself, "what would Oprah think of you today?" It's silly, yes. And it started as a joke, taken from Broad City. ("Make an a-ha moment, Abbi.") But, it's a pretty effective technique to either give me a kick in the butt or help me pump the breaks. You see, Oprah is all about balance. She advocates nurturing our body/soul/mind/relationships. It's about watering all corners of the garden to fully flourish.
