"You smell like blood."
Probably not the kind of thing one expects to hear from the form of a small child, all wide eyes, wild hair, and swishing sleeves. But Zazie is not a child and doesn't always manage to pretend very well, and the look in their eyes as they gaze up at the bulky man marked in red is not young or soft. They blink, a large dragonfly-like insect gently landing on their shoulder.
"Blood and death. You've killed many things, enough that the scent follows you around. What kind of a killer are you?" The question is asked plainly, without moral judgment, though perhaps a little warriness. After all, what predator is not wary of another so soaked in the scent of their prey's blood?
The child is unnaturally still as they regard the man, only the fluttering of the insect's wings stirring their hair.
