"...having a course, or at least a class on self defence would not be a bad idea. Every student could benefit from having the knowledge and skills to protect yourself from others." Especially if there was truly a murderer lurking around on campus.

That time he was illegally in a portal in Inazuma?

"If you're here to arrest me,"

"I'm preeetty sure you don't have jurisdiction here, just saying!"

"If I am going to arrest you, it would be for any infraction you cause while being in this city." And if she were a part of any sort of faction that would allow her to do so.

"I suppose it would only be practical to hold such occasions when the weather is favourable." No one would want to attend a wedding outdoors in rain or snow, after all.

What's more curious to the drivers is the small white animals that follows at her heels a few moments later while carrying a book between its tiny mouth. At first it pads along at normal speed, but when the pedestrian crossing light starts flashing, its steps speed up until it's scampering across the street.

It manages to reach the sidewalk on the other side just as the lights change to green with a final leap. The weight of the book throws off its balance as it lands, sending it skittering into the ankles of the woman it'd be following just moments ago.

Kyubey sprawls on the sidewalk, book by his side and ears covering his face as stops to recover his breath.

It wouldn't be until she made it safely to the other side of the street that she would feel something connect with her ankles, prompting her to look down like others did just moments before.

A strange, white catlike animal was sprawled out before her, a book resting at its side. Kneeling down, Sara set her bag to the side as she looked the animal over.

But here she was, asking the archery instructor of all things in hopes her IOU might check out...

"Look we aren't gonna be shooting any real arrows on stage or anything. Foam ones colored correctly, soft tips, the whole shebang. No ones gonna get hurt at all! So help a fellow girl out? Scratch my back and I can scratch yours with you know, whatever you need."

"I do not know if you have received the proper clearance for such an activity or not, so I took it upon myself to ensure proper precautions were taken." Not to mention she had a feeling that Sparkle wouldn't take no for an answer.

"Just ensure that they come back in one piece. This equipment is rather expensive, and I am not certain that there is anymore money in the budget to replace them.

pulled out of time like a lost traveler who had taken the wrong turn somewhere along the way. many a child in her position would undoubtedly be alarmed and distressed, but she had been more resistant than anything. like her adult self, all things considered, she was handling things relatively well. on the upside, being a shade of the past, it meant Sara knew everything about her, and how best to handle any scenario that might arise. not by maintaining order as an authority figure, but an adult like any other whose inner child carried pain.

Given everything in her life, there were some things that were best left unsaid or explored. It was a good thing that no one knew or understood what she had gone through to get to this point, and it was not something she was keen on revisiting. Yet in the back of her mind Sara couldn't help but think that her child self would no longer give her that luxury.

Turning to Paimon and the Traveller, Sara's brow furrowed. "You can't leave this place until you're whole?" she asked, looking back over to her child self who seemed intent on ignoring them for the moment. "Does that mean I need this child to become a part of me? How does one do that? And is this also true of yourselves as well?" Leaving, then, might not be so simple of a matter. Even if they found the door, there would be no guarantee that they would be able to step back through unless the conditions were met.

“It is a very fragile and delicate power-dynamic, riddled with opportunities of exploitation, to have a god not fall into this temptation is not only admirable, but rare.” And besides, gods had to earn the people’s loyalty and devotion, it would take a lot of work on the divine part to garner the trust needed for such a relationship. “Still, I do concur with you, Inazuman. It appears we can see eye to eye on something after all.”

What a breath of fresh air it was not to be immediately met with hostility around these parts.

The Doctor listened to her explain her sentiment, sharp eyes following her every word, every move as she spoke. Now this would determine her character and whether or not she deserved any sympathy from him (not that he was capable of such a thing in the first place). And as he listened, his eyes narrowed behind the mask, tilting his head upwards to look down on her. The Tengu started out well, but her conclusion was not what he wanted to hear. It was simply the wrong answer.

The questions he uttered were hard to stomach, but she would not shy away from answering.

"My archon saved my life, bestowing upon me a vision that protected me from near certain death as a child. Is that not enough of a reason to devote my life and service to her?" Even with her doubts, she could not forget this fact, which influenced her every decision still to this day.

"...I will agree that such devotion doesn't justify the lives that were lost, whether at my hand or that of my soldiers. It will be something I carry with me for the rest of my life which I can never atone for." She knew she, along with the rest of the Tenryou Commission were responsible for the lives lost during the Vision Hunt Decree. She also knew she could never make it up to the families whose loved ones would never return home. "However, that doesn't mean I should simply give up and abandon everything, including my archon. I owe it to the lives that were lost to continue, and to strive to make Inazuma a better, safer place so that such injustices never take place again.

since the dismantlement of the Vision Hunt Decree and negotiations with Watatsumi Island initiated, there was never a doubt the island Nation would see true peace return to its shores. they had seen plenty evidence since, and the unwavering spirit of keeping order had persisted through reconfiguration of what form that should take. so much progress had been mad in such a short time.

there were plenty of regret in the woman, her critical lens of obedience during said time had it surprise that the form her alternative took on was that of childhood rather than the perceived dog of an oppressor. few stories went long without such difficulty, and given her family, Sara shouldered plenty even before taking up arms.

"that would be appreciated. we don't plan on leaving anyone behind here, but knowing what way you managed to break in through will make getting others out easier if we get separated". she followed Sara's lead, occasionally glancing towards the younger with a little trepidation whenever those wary looks were cast their way.

Her child self, meanwhile, had begin to wander from the group and over to a desk of sorts that stood nearby. She could hear the whispers about her to her older self, but for once kept her mouth shut instead of telling them off. They were still humans, and humans were beings to be wary off. No good would come from conversing with them unless absolutely necessary.
