In the manga, Ichigo is running to Urahara’s Shop to go to the Soul Society and runs into Orihime on the way. He correctly assumes she’s going to the Soul Society, and they have light banter along the way.
In the anime, he has no idea anyone else is coming, and freaks out. So that’s both points away for making Ichigo look like an idiot punk, and points away for robbing us of a cure Ichihime moment.
started rereading and rewatching bleach and my god is the Orihime and Ichihime erasure in the anime pissing me off...the way they straight up removed and changed her scenes especially in relation to her crush towards Ichigo to the point you might not even realize she actually likes him at first when in the manga it's blatantly obvious and literally established within her first appearance heck even in chapter 0 like what was the reason...
It is so fascinating to me how badly Gin wanted Ichigo to be the one to defeat Aizen. The whole time they were fighting he was testing him, rooting for him, and was visibly disappointed when Ichigo appeared to have given up on himself. Gin wanted Ichigo to beat Aizen so badly, because he did not want to be the one to kill Aizen.
The really funny thing about Byakuya is that he's still as impulsive as he was as a kid, with just as quick a temper, all that's really changed is that he's too proud to do it in a sloppy or messy way. He's got to be stiff, stoic, relentless, totally in control. Only children let people read their emotions and showing emotion is a weakness. If you're gonna be upset, do it in a civil manner.
