MeadowClan Allegiances!!!!
First draft allegiances!! With some fun facts at the bottom. Kind of ironic I took this long to post these when MeadowClan is the main Clan in the story lol:
MEADOWCLAN: LEADER: Ashstar- pale gray molly DEPUTY: Blackthroat- black tom. MEDICINE CATS: Robinbelly- brown and white tabby molly Squirrelpelt- ginger molly Pebblespeck- ginger speckled tabby molly Whitefall- sleek white tom
WARRIORS:
Applefeather- ginger tom
Plumfang- cream and white tom
Apprentice: Duckpaw
Fallowpetal- big gray she-cat with twisted front paw
Apprentice: Jaypaw
Oakbranch- black tom
Adderblaze- golden she-cat
Cedarwhisker- dusty brown tom
Pinebird- sleek silver tabby she-cat
Apprentice: Briarpaw
Duststorm- brown tom.
APPRENTICES:
Duckpaw- orange and white tom
Jaypaw: skinny black tom
Briarpaw: dark tabby cat (They/them)
QUEENS:
Frostdapple- silver tabby she-cat. Mother to Aspenkit (pale dilute calico she-cat with big ears) and Rainkit (silver tabby she-cat)
Cottonheart- fluffy, muscular pale cream she-cat.
ELDERS:
Sandwhisker- pale cream molly
Cinderleap- dusty brown tabby tom
FUN FACTS:
Robinbelly is Whitefall’s mother
Medicine Cats aren’t allowed mates, of course, but they ARE allowed to have kits in MeadowClan. The idea is that they’ll be even more closely connected to StarClan and bring more faith.
Squirrelpelt and Pebblespeck are littermates, but not of medicine cat blood
Blackthroat and Oakbranch are also littermates
Pinebird and Frostdapple are sisters, and are considered “very unique” for their names
Duckpaw and Jaypaw were named after birds almost entirely just to piss off TreeClan
Of the leaders Ashstar is probably the strictest and definitely the most totalitarian
Of all the warriors in MeadowClan Adderblaze is considered the prettiest bc her fur is so bright against the kudzu but she can still blend in decently, unlike Applefeather or Pinebird and Frostdapple

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ME HOLY SHIT
Oh my god, we finally got him out of the transport tube and into his enclosure down in the reptile room so here he is, folks. These pictures absolutely do not do this animal justice, in size or in how absolutely flawless he is under that shed. When he’s had time to warm up and settle in, I’ll try to get some better shots of him but I’m just so goddamn excited.
This as-yet-unnamed blackthroat was basically a gift from the Park Director to get me back into herpetoculture and I’m genuinely touched that he offered this animal to me. V. a. ionidesi are one of his favorites, and this big boy means a lot to the facility that he came from. His original destination didn’t have the space or the use for him, so he was offered to me on the terms that he goes back to his home zoo if I ever decide I’m done working with him.
Nothing’s lived in that box since the V. gouldi I used to breed, so there’s some things I need to tweak over the next few days but he’s here and just
AHHHHH.
NOTE: Like other species of monitors, blackthroats aren’t beginner animals. They’re handsome and big and impressive, but they’re also potentially dangerous. I have years of personal and professional experience working with a broad range of members of the Varanidae family. Please don’t just go out and buy something you aren’t equipped or experienced enough to handle!
Monitors are highly intelligent reptiles, making them a challenge for the unprepared keeper. That said, this blackthroat we have at the shop is by far one of my favorite animals to work with.
