muSic # 5 Vince Staples “ST” I will admit it, I have never listen to any @vincestaples before and this is my introduction. From what I have read maybe not the best place to start in his catalog but I did fall for this album from the first time of hearing. Overall the album tone is deep and with so many layers. All the best machines are here from a music POV, like a check list of the greatest hits. It’s the content that shines through and Vince’s rhymes over tunes like “Law of Averages” and “Take Me Home” are personal highlights. This self titled album lives up to the self reflective nature of these types of albums and look deep you find out here about an artist dealing with his place in the world without ever looking beyond his own world.
