It was shared by Amali herself (who wrote the article), and a few of us shared on from her. However none of our posts had very good reach, infact it had the lowest reach of any of my posts - I reached 32 people! ⁣ ⁣ When Amali tried to further her reach Facebook said that she would need to pay to boost her post. Why is this? Because Facebook has determined that the birth crisis in the BAME community is not of interest to you. They are keeping you in your echo chamber based on algorithms from your search history, from your post likes, from your text comments, and your online interactions. Well, I've decided to play a game to see if this really is of interest to you. I'm writing a post and showing you a picture of Meghan Markle. ⁣ ⁣ Ooh...royalty...🤩 seems we all love a bit of the royal family, because Meghan gave me one of my top performing posts. Interesting, eh? It was a good post, I'm not saying it wasnt, but Facebook decided it was more important to you than this other factually based article written to bring a critical issue to the forefront of people's minds. ⁣ ⁣ The two aren't totally unrelated. Meghan is a black woman now transitioning into motherhood. She has received a phenomenal amount of criticism for her birth choices. Could it be because she's a black woman who knows what she wants and isn't about to apologise and make nice over her choices? She's in a privileged position, so it's likely she will come away having had a positive experience.
