It’s a rare win when you can smile over a Star Wars couple
I don't think it's right to call people sexist or racist because they don't ship BixCassian or don't like Bix Caleen. It's especially annoying when Bix fans act like Bix, not Jyn Erso, is the "real" heroine of the Star Wars galaxy when one, there can be more than one hero and two, if we're being really honest, I mean this in the most respectful way but blowing up the Death Star is more important to the Rebel Alliance than Bix and Cassian's baby.
Confession #7
Crying over a Bix&Cassian fic at work, im normal about them…definitely
for the three-sentence ficathon prompt three sentences: first is past tense, second is present tense, last is future tense also on ao3!
The boy's eyes were wide and uncertain when they first met hers, tracking her every movement, while he stood quiet and still, droid close by his side; "Bix," she said as she stepped forward, holding out her palm to his, and she swore she almost saw him start to smile.
She jolts awake, shaking and drenched in sweat, the nightmare a memory that her body always keeps locked inside; "Bix," he murmurs beside her, shifting to rest his palm against hers, and while it doesn't change anything, she's grateful that he makes it bearable enough to smile, if only for a flicker of a moment.
It will be quiet and cold on the day that she'll return to Rix Road, walking among ghosts for the first time in years; the wind won't even carry a whisper as she lays the brick with his name on it, palm flat, but there will be a warmth of presence in her chest all the same, and against the chill numbing her cheeks and the tip of her nose, she'll smile.

Chapter 8 is up, featuring Cassian’s POV as he leads Bix through a city in ruins.
---------------------------------------------------------------------- Cassian did not consider himself a patient man. Sure, over the years he had seen his flaws for what they were, and learned to adapt. He had started to recognize when to wait and when to take the leap, or how far he could push until a man would snap. He could be patient. If he wanted to be. But as he stared down at the cowering man on the floor before him, Cassian felt nothing but disgust. Certainly not patience. Tenek, whom he had gone to school with in another lifetime, now the hotel’s cook and Brasso’s connection, had pointed him in the right direction, but the hotel was big enough to lose an hour or two searching behind every single one of its locked doors. Time he could not afford to lose. A red haze clouded his mind, making it hard to think clearly. He could not allow himself to get lost in the swirling sea of emotions, waiting for him just beneath the surface of his mind. Not now, when he needed his wit the most. There was a muffled kind of noise coming from outside, the screaming and crying of the desperate on the streets filling the air, fueling his determination. He raised his blaster a little higher. “The woman you are keeping,” Cassian demanded, glaring at the officer on the ground. “Where is she?” “I.. I don’t know who you are talking about,” the man spoke, his hands raised in apprehension. But the little patience Cassian had summoned within himself was already running thin as paper. He lowered himself down towards the man trembling at his feet and pressed the end of his blaster into the meat of his neck. “Where. Is. She?” he growled. Click to continue reading
