another thing i love about tsbt is that the girls (Niya, Auristela, Xochi and Atzi) are allowed to be strong AND feminine. they all have long hair, they spend time doing it and wear jewellery and make-up. Atzi and Xochi both also wear dresses (I can't remember if Niya and Auristela wore dresses for the selection ceremony too). they also kick ass. they're powerful and strong. ofc they have their weaknesses but Auristela and Niya placed first after the first and the second trials respectively. Auristela held her ground against Venganza (I think) in Celestial Monsters.
they are strong, powerful AND feminine, which I feel many female characters aren't allowed to be (my best example being any female character from riordanverse, as much as I love those books)
