greta - rich af but left home to perform magic in the city instead, also an excellent art thief (or, as she would call it, the ultimate vanishing act) but just leaves them around the city for the artist to find rather than doing anything with it, falls in love w/ two amateur detectives
ilse - university student / amateur detective, a bit prone to flights of fancy and bad ideas, acts on feelings and impulse, which might be why she thinks this is a great idea and proceeds to get information from greta abt the criminal underworld to help solve cases on a regular basis and accidentally falls in love with her too
artemisia - another student / detective, also from a very wealthy background, more of a practical thinker than the other two but highly compassionate and loyal, loves both her girlfriends very much even if they make bad choices, lowkey mom friend
hans - ilse’s brother, final member of the student / detective trio, likes to party and have fun, a bit reckless, but nobody’s quite sure how much of this he does for fun and how much to keep running into the attractive guard who keeps breaking up the student parties
piero - recently-promoted first lieutenant of the local guard, stressed 25/8, has a damn job to do but keeps getting distracted bc he just wants to be sure hans made it home safely, okay? epitome of ‘disappointed but not surprised’, ends up aiding and abetting a lot of their dodgy shenanigans but what are friends for, right?
bonus: mariano arracci and niccola dellagio, aka me blatantly parodying annibale carracci and caravaggio for fun and because you can’t stop me
extra bonus: alexandra, greta’s older sister who looks like the worst kind of rich traditionalist but is actually all kinds of amazing and helps them out a lot

omg ok two stars means you’re getting a Savage story… SO there was this school play i was in in high school and we had this fake fight scene that the drama teacher had choreographed that me and this bitch (who used to talk shit about me all the time) had to do, so on the opening night, i “accidentally” “tripped” and ripped out a chunk of her hair extensions on stage in front of parents, students, and nuns. it was glorious.
